Its gone with or without the lock. Its not in the car anymore starting in late 2011. So the 12 and 13's are completely without. Its not a safety issue either. Its a useless system. Nissan deleted it for good reason.

If they want it they will get it. I could put your car on 4 dollies in about 45 seconds and push the car into the middle of the street by myself. Best way to protect your Z is keeping it in a garage.

i would just take a look under the steering column first to verify you have a steering lock or not before undoing things...
if you have the lock, this would be in your face when you look up. |

After reading all the methods of disabling the steering lock I think I'll go with cutting the brown wire. Looks to be the easiest and quickest way, and I really don't care about not being able to put it back to normal. I don't think anyone will notice it either way.

Just a thought and maybe it's been said before, but have the people with steering lock issues checked their fuses? Probably not the cause, but it's certainly in the realm of possibility for a fuse to blow therby disabling the steering lock in the lock position.

Nothing to worry about with me, government employee here haha.
It may "help" but it won't stop it from going nite nite. And if they bring a regular hook, doesn't matter which way your wheels are facing. And seriously it's as simple as jacking the car up in the front, then the rear. If you have one of the jacks that lift a car by 2 or 3 pumps, it's VERY doable.

Just checked and my car has the Rev. C. Looks super easy just to disconnect and snip the brown wire, these 0 degree temperatures here in Chicago have postponed the job though. I'll likely end up doing this over the weekend, hopefully the pos will last me until then!
