Re: My earlier post in this thread
I do occasionally get the delay between pressing the start button and the engine cranking. It doesn't happen very often and I have not been able to identify any pattern. Someone reported that pulling the fuse affected passenger airbag function - maybe the two are related. I can't recall if I had a passenger when I got the delays.

You have dashed my only hope of figuring out the delay. Thanks alot!
I do appreciate you pointing it out. I missed that when I was scrolling through the replies. Here's a real one: Thanks! I'd still like to know why the delay and, especially, why not every time? Maybe someone will come up with an answer some day.

I'm going to the dealer for an oil change tomorrow, maybe one of the mechanics can shed some light. Edit: Just tried it with the door open and no delay on four starts.

steering lock failure
So i have a quick question about this fix. Mine went bad completely, but i got the new part from the dealership and they said i could plug it in a disable it and than bring it back to them. Will the fuse fix work if i disable it with the working part in and than once disabled throw my old one back in? Trying to avoid the cost of the part.

They won't do anything that's why some of the 11's don't have it and none of the 12's or 13's have it.

Do everyone a favor, file a complain and force a recall
https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/Vehicl...nt/index.xhtml originally posted by cossie1600 in this thread Those of you who have had Steering Lock Failure I would suggest more people try this way of getting the point across, they can't deny it if all the complaints are formal

they don't want to do anything but if enough of us complain formally like you were suggesting in the other thread then they may actually be forced to put out a recall or at least a TSB.

But he also said that it won't be a recall.

^^ but he's a parts guy not a guy at corp he doesn't really know....... IMO
Plus if there is enough problems with them then legally they will required to resolve the problem. Another reason why we need more formal complaints!
