Plasti dip or powder coat my stock rims?
I can't decide which would be better. for $340 I can get all my stock rims powder coated matte black OR save money and just do the plasti dip, but does that plasti dip last as long as I am hoping on the wheels? they probably get f'ed up when getting new tires with plasti dip..

how about a different color if you're going to get it powder coated? matte black is like silver on regular cars these days. not very original.
with that said, plasti-dip it. |

I hate the stock silver look. I'm young, I like the tacky look . My friend has the evo 10 with them powder coated and they are holding up well after a year. I wonder if plasti dip on rims can hold up for just as long, I would think they might wear pretty quick from debris on the road

You could do it right, half-a**ed, or not at all.

Stop bein' cheap and just buy rims. These are Rays engineering Forged lightweight 19 inch wheels limited to the 370z wheels only!!! The design is changing and sport pkgs arent uncommon but aren't everywhere like base pkgs. Buy some wheels and don't rice up your quality stockers. Put all seasons on the stock wheels and use it in winter.

Powdercoat is the way to go. Just do a gloss black though, more professional. Matte looks cheap and I usually see it on rice boxes.

plastic dip first and see if you like the look. if you do then do powder if not you have the option of returning to stock if you want/need to

Powder coat. It can look really good if you get the right color (don't listen to the negativities of some on this forum) - I've seen a few 370s with it done and it's cool - and you don't need to buy whole new rims to be unique.
Not everyone can afford to spend four-figure sums on wheels. There's no shame in that. If powder coating is comfortably in your budget, do it dude! |
