Is a tune really worth the money?

Is it worth the money if I just have a cutback exhaust and drop in air filters and a red gt-r button ( )

I think its worth the money, but thats just me You could buy standard with the 3 etunes, get one now, then in the future when you get more mods get another etune update, etc... and you'll have a tuned car pretty much the whole time. Or you could get the tuner version and just tweak the A/F yourself after each new mod... once you have a base its not too difficult.

If you're going to get on a dyno however I would wait till you're done with bolt-on's.

some mild mods here too cat-back, filters+tubes. I'm getting an e-tune through R/T Tuning Speed Shop - $500. Added benefit of having the cable is I can run diagnostics, clear codes, reflash on my own, and the cable has good resale value. If you have a 7AT a Tuner can adjust your torque management tables + line pressure increased, fan speed (cooler oil temps), throttle response, AFR's, adjust to your specific type of gasoline.

If we had OpenECU availible we could save a bit of money there and have all the benefits except for maybe switching maps.
