Key Fob Question...
Some times when I walk up to my car with my keyfob in my pocket and press the button on the door it does not register every single time. I find that I have to move around and kind of dance while pressing the button in order to get it to find the signal. I have replaced the battery in the keyfob itself and can't think of anything else that it could be.
Does everyone else's work every time? Am I being too anal about this? I assumed with a nice car like the Z it should work flawlessly...

Once in a while I have to do the dance but it seems like 9 out of 10 times it works on the first try. My fob battery is about 1 yr old. I know you need to be pretty close to the handle for the button to work properly. Is your fob in your pocket with cell phone? If so try different pocket, could be interference.

Nope, not in the same pocket as my cell phone... I do have a remote start on my daily driver and the remote is on the same keyring as my Z's keyfob. Maybe that is causing interference? I never thought about that.

I don't think another fob would over power the Z's fob that easily. Perhaps it could though. Separate them and check it out. I think the system works very well and it definitely spoils you. I wouldn't worry to much if it takes a couple of taps...

edit nevermind I just read the thread again and this switch does not affect the fob. Sorry. I hope you get it figured out.

I actually came across that thread while searching for an answer. I checked that switch and mine was pushed in all the way so it's not that. I think I am just a perfectionist when it comes to my car. I appreciate the suggestion though.

Push the button harder maybe? I never knew about that extended storage switch, glad I do now. I just got back from driving my Z and the button seemed to work on one push, I will pay attention and see if the system is perfect on my car.
