What would worry that theif is that police are now aware of this and that they will be more police activity around the area hopefully. And also, this time you'll be prepared with a bat or a gun! I prefer bat or knife but that's just me! xD

We have a great Alarm company in California..Not one of those nationwide one's..
When the criminals see the outdoor signs and the window stickers, they will pick another house.. If the alarm goes off, The police are called, and in our town, they still show up every time..Not all towns do, some have stopped showing up due to budget cuts.. And some nation wide alarm companies suck.. But for me, it is piece of mind whether I am home or not, I know that the house is safer...

I am in NYC very often with my Z and always paranoid where I park. And you are right... there is no such thing as a "good area" to park. |

I just watched a video in chicago where the tow truck backed up to a newer GTO and hooked it, and just drove off...
They had a sign, "not for hire "....We are never truly safe.. LoJack would help, but thieves just suck..

I just noticed this thread! The exact same thing happen to my 2010 Z the very same night. I was parked in Wrigleyville. Pissed me off royally, but since I had nothing in the car the broken window was the worst of it. Police wouldn't even come look at it. Luckily, my insurance has pretty good window coverage and it was fixed the next afternoon at my girlfriends house who I was visiting at the time. They also got BMW X3 parked behind me.
Apparently some people leave their cars unlocked to avoid being broken into. I don't know if I would feel comforable doing that though. I my case I had absolutely nothing to be seen and I have no idea what they thought they could find. The cubbie on the dash was open and the console when I discovered it the next morning. All the little odds and ends were still there...even a very nice tire gauge. Last edited by ayrton88; 05-21-2012 at 09:17 PM. |

You're a fool to think that because you live in a nice area that thieves won't be able to reach you. You're even a bigger fool for leaving your wallet in the car. I hope you learned a lesson.

First, I left the wallet by accident so that was my bad. But in the past ten years I lived here, I've never even seen or heard of anyones car getting broken in to by my area. (I live in Northbrook). Plus cops are everywhere here. I mean why don't they go after Derrick Rose's car down the street rather than mine since his bently is much nicer than mine? Not to mention he leaves a lot of stuff in his car all the time. This was just bad luck I guess.
