They will be lucky that you don't find them first..

In my dream world, thieves lose both their thumbs and can never hold anything again..

But I am a crazy old knuckle dragger.. People's property should be off limits to others, but I understand the world that we live in..
No that sounds about right for a punishment.

I obviously agree..

I don't want to hear from the dirt bag losers, that it is the economy, or they are on drugs, blah, blah, blah..They are thieves and lazy losers..

I will lag bolt their hands to tree stumps, and use a pair of garden lopers to cut the thumbs off...

Sure it is from the stone age, but I bet that thieves would think twice if they knew that we would use rough justice and forget calling the police..

But I KNOW that I am talking smack, and in the real world, A scumbag lawyer would come take my house, and my portfolio if I touched a thief...

But if I ever fear for my life, I am shutting the thief off like a light switch..He won't get to testify.

Judged by 12 and not by one.. I pray that it never happens...I really don't want to have to do it..

...All they have to do is pass the information along, they dont have to do much with it they already have his physical location, and the ability to do what they want with the address, and name, which you could get a SSN out of.

I've seen it happen. Just because someone does a "smash and grab" doesn't mean they dont know how to commit a larger form of crime, this was a crime of opportunity, the "dumb criminals" were "smart" enough to watch and wait in some form or another and not get caught.

Regardless, it is smart to watch your a** if you want to pick it apart pm me.
Because you are stating as fact that his information is already for sale and people are running up credit under his name as we speak. That's a pretty reckless statement and yes it is hard to "create a profile" without a social. I have been in financial services my entire career and you can't even open a savings account without an accurate social.

We have safeguards against information that doesn't match. The government now requires verification of all data and your address, social, dob, name, and ID must all match their records for any credit/debit products. Without an accurate social it will be declined.

Again if they have his social then it is a problem obviously. I am not going to "PM you" I'm not an internet tough guy and don't play into internet tough guys either. I am simply trying to diffuse misstatements which give unreasonable cause for concern. A persons wallet getting stolen doesn't make him an immediate victim of identity theft as you alluded to.

Our IDs and credit cards pass through thousands of merchants and other vendors on an annual basis... if he has flagged the cards with the provider he will be fine.

Please enlighten me as to how you get a person's social with their name and address? If that has basis we are all in a lot of trouble.

Doesnt matter if they got just one card or the whole stack, active or not. Your information is off to the highest bidder.

Thanks for the support guys, my z is fixed and I'm about to give her a wash.

I called equifax today and froze my accounts they said they will contact experian and transunion to freeze those accounts on those reports as well.

I'm just glad they didn't see my bag in the trunk, I had my ID for work and they surely wouldn't let me into work especially with all the secret service around Chicago.

As much ias I would love to agree with you. This is farthest from reality and truth. Some criminals "yes" do like going for the gusto in better areas. But if you really examine the facts. 90% of criminals that go to nice areas eventually get caugh. While 90% of crimes in the "hood" go unsolved. Police don't really care in lower income areas and just basically harrass people. Not much crimes solving in ghettos. So home invasions, gunpoint robberies and even daylight shootings are common. People truly live in fear in the lower income ares because criminals own the streets. They are mostly hostages to crime or you find a "you can't beat em' join em mentality. Then there's the others who may temporarily sway but strength in family brings them back. Or those that do anything and everything in life to get out the ghetto. Its way more complicated than we would like to sum up in a paragraph. But, crime shouldn't happen anywhere.

I will leave it there because this isn't a statistics forum. Its a car forum.

No problem..I never get upset with my car buddies, but in my area , they come from Oakland California, through the Caldacott tunnel and target Orinda and Lafayette, which are high end communities..

Also in other areas locally , they do come from Richmond, California, and Oakland to do home robberies and Car Jackings..

True the robberies, and murders, are in Oakland, and Richmond, but property crime comes to where the property is..IMHO

It just depends on where you live.. When they introduce section 8 housing near our bordering towns, well, the crime comes with it..

And again, I never get upset with my car buddies...We are only sharing information to help each other...We are not trying to pee on each other, haha..

So no worries mate..

OP, sorry if I jacked your thread, and glad you got your car fixed..Watch out for them..sometimes once is not enough for these thieves..

Im not playing internet tough guy...I asked you to PM me so i could further understand your information, i didn't mean to attack you in what i said to pm me. I simply wanted to have a constructive conversation out side of the thread.

For me to say to be on the watch out and throw up that they already have information is so the OP will be on the proactive and watch his stuff. Not only that but a lot more information is stored in your mag strip then you lead to. they have enough credential to get his social, assuming basic information such as a dl is there.

If they are motivated enough then, they can do it. So there is no point in saying they cant.

Bottom line he obviously didnt care so your right i shouldn't have said anything.

Im done continuing this conversation that the op is not involved in, in this thread.
