Pissed me off royally, but since I had nothing in the car the broken window was the worst of it. Police wouldn't even come look at it. Luckily, my insurance has pretty good window coverage and it was fixed the next afternoon at my girlfriends house who I was visiting at the time. They also got BMW X3 parked behind me.
Apparently some people leave their cars unlocked to avoid being broken into. I don't know if I would feel comforable doing that though.
I my case I had absolutely nothing to be seen and I have no idea what they thought they could find. The cubbie on the dash was open and the console when I discovered it the next morning. All the little odds and ends were still there...even a very nice tire gauge.
Man that really sucks...I know why the cops didn't come to look at it...they were getting prepared for NATO, unfortunately, 60 world leaders are more important than our Z . I never drive my car out to the city unless I park it at my work inside a secure garage.

I've never had a problem parking in the city until this recent event and I've been doing it for 20 years. I parked my previous car, a nice Bimmer, on the street for over ten years and never had a problem. What I worry most about is careless parallel parkers. I can't believe how bad some are...and then there are the ones that just don't care. In any case, I'm not going to let a car dictate where or when I go somewhere. As was mentioned before, there is no safe place to park. I'm just pissed because I never keep anything of any value in the car.
