370z hate?

I know that everyone has they're own taste in cars but come on now... The 370z looks a lot better than most cars in it's class.

Most of the posts on there are defending the 370z. There will always be haters no matter what your talking about. I love my car and don't give a &*%^ what anyone else would have to say about it.

Junior370z 06-11-2009 01:12 PM

I know there will be haters from anywhere over anything. I just though it was interesting.

One_Quick_Z 06-11-2009 01:16 PM

They are just mad they spent twice as much for an AWD TT Z haha

JK GT-R's are sweeet

Styling is subjective. RWD two seater sports coupe with 330+ hp under 30k is a steal. The car is so much more refined than the 350 and is a much better performance car out of the box. Just compare the boring DE engine (which I owned) to the sophisticated high revving HR with VVEL all for basically the same price? Not to mention the HIDS, cruise, etc you now get standard.

I have learned not to rabble on forums about styling. I originally hated the styling of the 350 and now feel it was one of the most beautiful designs in a very long time.

Just as I loathed the boomerang lights they have grown on me and I appreciate them now.

Nissan came out with an amazing design in the 350, I think some were expecting something as revolutionary this time around. What they did was take the design and make it more aggressive.

I wish they would return to the low slung wedge design of the 300ZX with modern touches, but I am not going to bitch about an amazing car.

Modshack 06-11-2009 02:02 PM

Car bigots exist on every forum. As a true car junky I have an appreciation for many brands and models but that's just me. We have our share of haters here too, both owners and wannabees..

On this, the new frontal pedestrian impact rules make any return to the "Wedge" pretty much impossible. Notice how many new cars have a more vertical front profile? No more flinging those jaywalkers over your roof...;)

i dont think the Z looks bad....the Z has some sharp lines and some curves.
the Gt-R has a boxy look, which will look outdated.....

I have to agree with this 100%. The GT-R, to me, just has too many sharp angles. The design looks busy and doesn't flow. It may be a super-car in its guts, but the outside is no classic design at all.

The Z on the other hand, is beautiful like a woman, with all those curves! And echoing the design of a Porsche is usually not a bad thing. :)

I feel the same way about the Nismo 370Z as I do about the GT-R though. The Nismo version replaces or hides some of those beautiful curves on the stock Z with boxy parts, whether it be that boxy rear-end or the ridiculous spoiler.

Give me the stock Z any day! :tiphat:

nogoodname 06-11-2009 03:00 PM

glad someone agrees with me, i'm not digging the whole boxy thing....and for the Nismo Z, i didnt like it at all.......linear lines on a curvy body......doesnt work out.

shabarivas 06-11-2009 03:06 PM

I absolutely did not buy this car to make other ppl on other forums feel good... enough said lol

nogoodname 06-11-2009 03:16 PM

+1 to that ^^

I notice this from time to time on car forums. There are a LOT of awesome sports cars I'd love to own/drive not just ONE.

Aye ! I agree with that.

cwj370 06-13-2009 07:04 AM

Can you believe that, some pretty strong feeling, could it be jealousy?

DNadar 06-13-2009 09:50 AM

i didn't like the 370z when i first saw it, i thought it was kinda funky.

I'm in love with it now!

:iagree:

Sport version has the right mix of wheels and rear spoiler to not ruin the curves. Like it or not, I always thought the Caymen was one beautiful car. The 370Z has great curves also, and adds some muscularity without going the "sharp angle" route to achieve it.

I've been cross shopping 370Z and Corvette. For some reason I feel like the 370Z is a better overall car, quality and interior, etc. However I do love the big V8. Has anyone drove both? Can 332HP compare to a 430hp vette?

Also has anyone driven BOTH a NEW Maxima and a 370Z that can comment?

The 'Vette eats the Z up in a straight line for sure. In the corner's it's just as good with the Z giving you a little better feedback than a C6.

The Corvette is a well built car. Some of the materials in the interior are cheap but it's still a good car.

Vette vs. Z is a tough choice...

Z vs. Maxima... can't really compare. Obviously the Z is going to beat it in every performance category. Comfort and practicality... Max hands down! :icon18:

Great info...Thing is the Vette is going to be much more expensive than a 370Z with the same options....and I kind of like the Z in that it's not SO low to the ground and so obnoxious looking (in a good way). Also have a great nissan dealer I deal with. The 370Z seems like a Maxima in terms of options and comfort and a sports car at the same time...thats really what I like about it. The Vette is a different thing altogether. I test drove an 09 C6 and I liked it a lot but the 370Z seems like its got more room for the driver and passenger...is it just me?

The Z's cabin feels more spacious. Not sure on the specs, but I'm sure being taller overall has something to do with it.

The Z and C6 are both really nice cars. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

cwj370 06-14-2009 09:40 PM

The 370Z hate thread just kind of died there didn't it. More people like it than not.

Maxima09 06-14-2009 09:46 PM

I think people like all sorts of cars for different reasons. Everyone can critique a car and it doesn't mean they hate it. Unless youre dealing with a Ferrari I think any sports car can be positive and negative for different reasons.

cwj370 06-14-2009 09:51 PM

Exactly, thats why it seems so strange to read such strong negative feelings, like its personal.

travisjb 06-15-2009 12:55 AM

back on z vs vette... i'm not a vette hater, but I do have reservations... I have about 30 hours of track time in a vette and while it was good to learn on, I wouldn't want to own one... they are a dime a dozen and to me feel numb and understeer in stock configuration... the interior, while improved recently, seems early 90s vintage to me.... benefit is HPs... but the Z is good for high 300s NA with the right tweaks and with a little weight reduction it won't be too far off a stock vette in the straights... 370z all the way! :)

fly yellow 06-15-2009 01:36 AM

I have driven the new Maxima and it is really hard to make a comparison since they are two entirely different beasts. The Maxima is a great sporty sedan with decent pick-up and a ton of bells and whistles for the money. It is not a true sports car, but the new Max is the closest thing to the 4DSC that Nissan has billed it as since the Maxima SE that came out in 2000, which I had one. Inside you will find many of the same options, with the possibility of a few more in the Max depending on how it's equipped. The max has the backup cam, air conditioned drivers seat, Dual Zone, climate control, and the option of the all glass roof. You won't find these things in the Z. The Max is also far and away more practical.

I may be picking up a new Maxima as a second car. I found out that I am going to be a dad one week after I bought the Z, and I will need to get something a bit more practical, but I am not getting rid of the Z. With dealers taking off nearly 8K off the sticker on the new Max it may just be a great deal.

plus the new gtr is not a sports car, it's automagic :bowrofl:

At one time Ford owned at most, 33% of Mazda and currently owns about 20%.

Edit: now owns only 13%

nogoodname 06-15-2009 11:17 AM

well, the main point was Z > RX-8 !!!!

I'm sorry, but I hate hybrids and any car that is built by a company owned by the US government.

:shakes head:
Now you sound just like the hater that started all this. Mazda makes a good car. I've owned a few (3 Miatas and a Mazda 3) and they've at least been the equal of Nissan in the quality, Fit and finish dept...They're also great drivers.

nogoodname 06-15-2009 01:40 PM

^^ LOL...coudnt help it....my bad

need4speed 06-15-2009 06:14 PM

Hey wats up guys. I'm new to the sight n jus wanna spread the luv. Lol
I just think that the hate mainly derives from anti asian racism and knowing the
U.S. makes inferior cars. Then others just hate cuz they can't afford any of these
New cars n r stuck buying 02 camaros n 04 mustang cobras. Lol.
Then the german snobs are the guys who paid 50g's on a car thinkin they were
Gonna outclass n outperform everyone on the block. Then come to find out that
They got dusted by a car 18 grand less than there's.
I'm not a hater. But I do care about quality. I own 2 altimas. 98 gxe n an 08 3.5se sedan.
In a couple months I will own the 370z. Giving up my 98.
All I can say is after two 45 minute unsupervised test drives of the Z plus test driving
Camaro and genesis coupe. None of these cars can come close to the performance of the Z.
Compared to the genesis coupe the Z would be considered featureless n not as
Comfortable. But its driving dynamics are unmatched by any car up 2 50k.
Its easy to feel when u drive it that the z is something special.
I can't sspeak about the mustang but judging by videos. It can only compare in a straight line.
And from wat I heard. That mustang track pack can only pull ,95g on the track.
Nissan pulls 1.01g on the track n .98g on the road. I don't hate on any other car.
But facts r facts. That 3rd gauge in the Z is awful. But every pony cars interior looks
Crazy dated. Everyone is saying how good mustang looks now inside.
But at the auto ahow it looked like a reformed version of the same POS interior.
I guess those are the details that insight hate? But hey, if pony cars r wat u like?
Then go for it. You can customize the interior n there's plenty of aftermarket performance parts.
If u like barbie doll plastic in ur car? More power to u.
N lastly they can go on all day about how they think the Z is ugly. But what they
Gonna have to deal with is that the Z is Techologically 2 generations ahead of
Any current pony car. And is only rivaled in technology by German makes. Lol
So pony lovers should be the last to hate cuz they not even on the same planet
As the Z. These are not opinions. Do the research. Its fact.
