Check the numbers only about 30K Z's sold 2009-2011 which makes it pretty rare.

in the past year i have seen 4 diff Z's in my travels. i have seen 7-8 (same color ones couldn't see the driver lol) diff GT-R's in the same amount of time.

Ok - as for the yellow z I had last year the master cylinder in the clutch dropped continuously even with only a few thousand miles - so Nissan bought it back.

As for my child - lost her in first trimester so thanks for calling me a "troll" or full of "bs"

So I can provide pics of my gtr if you all need proof but all in all some of you guys are being flat out pricks.

Can we get back on track o the post. I see on average 10-12 370z around Knoxville regularly.

You can get the fortune kit if you buy from veilside Japan and pay or air freight - comes out to about 13k before install and paint

sorry to hear op

i would build the Z. newer platform and less known issues than the rotary rx-7. Z's cooling problems are easily solved.

Though I do love rx-7, I feel like the Z is "safer" choice.

sorry for your loss op...

but honestly if it was me, id build an FD3.

seems like you want something more exclusive then the Z since you stated that you
see alot of Z's in your area, and the FD is definately more exclusive then the Z.

i think with the other 2 builds, they are super cool, but you will have trouble getting that power down to the ground.

X2, I had a pristine gen3 bought at 22k miles and in the family for 3 yrs. I was working with a good tuner, following all the advice, turbo timer, synthetic oil added to the gas for the apex seals, a few other things I don't recall. it was driven spirited but not abused and it was a blast from 4-9k, a dog till you got to 4k.

It was an unreliable moneypit, moreso then any car I ever owned. That said if you are ready to go to your favorite tuner and drop 8k or so BEFORE you touch the engine it will be a semi reliable screamer. But it will go down and you will be spending more money on it waiting to get it back. Add more to the hassle if your favorite rotary specialist lives far away.

IMO there really isn't much better then what you already have except maybe a lotus. Its small and light making it quick and good in turns. The low relative HP shouldn't be an issue since you won't be going that fast on public roads.

@rockcrawler thanks for the money pit advice

maybe this will help with the progress of either build. Looking at spending 50-65k out the door.

Everything i'm about to type is just me relaying it to the board not sure if there is very much validity to it until i meet them and hand them a check with some form of guarantee in hand

I have spoken withe a few rotary guys that will back a 600hp rotor but the engine cost alone is 25-30k.

now i know i can pick up an 09 Z and go to GTM or Z1 and put 25-30k in it and have a 700 HP monster - question is will that be similar in quickness with much higher reliability.

yes i understand that when there is that much work reliability is always a subjective term.

if you're gonna spend that much money on a Z, why don't you just put it into that '12 GT-R?

I'm just having trouble grasping the concept of having one of the quickest cars in the world and wanting to get the baby version and dump 30k into it.
