Dealer keep delaying delivery
Hey guys, so I joined this forum nearly a month ago with the thought id have my new 370 within the week.... which is what the dealer said. Its been close to a month now and everytime I ring they say its coming it coming but it never does. I really love the car and want it got a fairly good price on a new one but any cheaper id have to fly to another state which I didnt really want to do. What should I do? Is it normal to wait a month or so for a 370. How long have you guys waited on a new car.
|
I got mine in 2 weeks after placing a deposit. If the dealer said it is within 1 week, that usually means a pre-built model. Any longer and it seems like it's an ordered Z from the factory.
|
I'm right there with you on this one. I talked with my dealer about 2 weeks ago and settled on price. They didn't have the car I wanted in their inventory so we were going to get it from another dealer. I was told they had to call the out of state dealer to confirm they'd sell me that particular car. Days go by and I hear nothing. I call and email and they tell me that they actually have the exact car I want in transit from the port (this was 4 days ago). Since then I've been told its going to show up and it just doesn't. Granted I haven't waited as long as you I feel like the dealer is doing something behind the scenes to buy time. All in all its annoying because I could have gone to another dealer haggled price and been driving the car already, if only I didn't leave a deposit :(.

If your 370Z is coming from Tochigi Japan, the headquarters for Nissan and where all 370Z's are made (just in case you didn't know)go by the date they gave your dealer, as far as build month and delivery month goes. Don't get caught up on an actual date, i was told so many dates by my salesman that i just told myself this is between me and Nissan, not this salesman who doesn't know as much as he should about the 370z as it is ( not that he could teach me anything, but still be informed about the vehicles your selling). Nissan told my dealership production on my Z would start in December 2011 it did (December 16,2011), and delivery would be February 2012, it was (February 25,2012). Mind you i ordered July 7,2011, but she was well worth the wait. :happydance:

You can't get your deposit back from them & bounce somewhere else?
|
Yea thats annoying too. I keep thinking to myself the car isnt in the country yet. when I put a deposit down theu said it was on a boat to australia and theu told me on 3 different occasions the car has arrived in the country but those three times were weeks apart. They wont return my calls and all they can say is itll be worth the wait (only if they mix it up with a gtr but that wont happen). Im might go to the dealer to review the contract and see if theres anything about them not providing the car within a certain time period. Maybe you should too CorbinDallas.

One thing to consider that I've heard dealers do is if they have someone willing to pay full price or more for your same car they will sell it to gain the profit and then reorder yours. Could be why they keep saying it's coming when it doesn't. There is a chance it did arrive and someone happened to see and said they would buy for MSRP.

Just and FYI about those Nissan surveys; You can easily ruin the relationship you have with the dealership. |
If they're promising you a car from another dealer, get the vin. Google the vin and see if it matches up with where ever your dealer says its coming from. If not, question them on it.

See that lies the problem with a great Nissan dealer like i have, two unprofessional sales people, can't say the whole sales team at my dealership, but my individual salesman's wife worked at the dealership as a saleswoman too, and she called me to ask why i gave her husband such a low rating ( the nerve). I'm a man of my word whether i said it or wrote it so i told her (mind you, there were so many reasons i forgot a few of them) , she tried to say at the beginning of the call it was for an invitation to an orientation they were having that week (maybe, but why bring the survey results up). For me, i realized my salesman and his wife became way too comfortable with my wife and I, to the point being professional was no longer required in there eyes (not that they were during the whole buying process, but i was buying my dream car, so i ignored a lot, i ordered her so i was even more excited, and i know my dealership is the best in Texas, they've won the excellence award from Nissan numerous times). Trust me, the tuning department at my dealer are top notch, nothing but excellent reviews for those guys, and service is top notch very professional too and they are a mod friendly dealership. I was there yesterday to have my kick plate panels replaced that had arrived, the guy who did them it was his first install when he performed the PDI on my 370Z with illuminated kick plates , before the PDI was performed the dealer knew not to touch my Z (at least i thought, considering i gave my salesman a nice list of my delivery requests that i typed of course), something else my salesman said he told them not to do multiple times he claims but it was done anyway, luckily only the plastic and transport paper were removed no swirls or scratches plus it helped i picked her up the night of the day she arrived at the dealership, i wanted to do that myself, as a professional detailer i'm used to doing that for my clients ordered vehicles (to be honest, i don't think he told them anything). Anyway, my panels weren't flush as they should have been no problem that's why as a professional service department they ordered brand new replacements, as a detailer i noticed the original one's must've been damaged, no problem (he did it perfect this time, brand new one's sent from Nissan headquarters) . No problems with any other department at the dealer, service and the tuning department are cool with me. This is a case of how a salesman didn't ruin my experience with a good dealership, a dealership i highly recommend, i know for a fact my original salesman left the dealership, he called me (left a voicemail, i missed his call)to let me know the new Nissan dealership he now works at, the very one he was telling me about the night i took delivery and brought my girl home (get my point about an arrogant unprofessional salesman ). :tiphat: |
Salespeople like those above should not be working at a dealer that's rated so highly. If these ratings affect the dealer so deeply, perhaps a few more negative ratings and either one or both of the above may be let go.
When you're spending big bucks on a car, buying a company's flagship (or almost flagship) vehicle, your wishes should be respected. If not, then they deserve whatever wraith honest survey answers result in. I think of these surveys are report cards. If the experience was steller in every regard, they should get A's across the board. If not, then areas needing attention should be graded appropriately. |
After reading this I rung the dealer about wtf is going on and gimme my money back. They said itll be ready first thing monday. It supposedly arrived overnight and they need to register it and full detail first. Interesting how salesman jump at the words 'ur losing ur sale'.
Thanks for all your help guys. Pics to come monday. |

Hey guys. Couldnt help myself. went to the dealer, its like 10pm. Talked to the security guard and he let me look around. I FOUND IT!!! The interior is wraped in plastic, as are the wheels and it looks white with all the protective sticker stuff on it. Cant wait!! Its actually here!! It was the only 370 there with a bunch of other nissan xtrails and micras n stuff the black rose among the thorns lol. Was gonna take a photo but the guard breathing over me with his dog turned me off it.

I didn't realize the survey had such a huge impact. Is it bad that I never filled out my survey? haha

They put me through the same shyyt at my dealer. I had a couple of issues with my car and they couldn't resolve it properly so it reflected there rating. They salesman was like damn, you ****** me over but don't worry about it. I said the same tthing... I will call nissan to explain. He said what's done is done. I'm like ok... on my wifes car that they were given 10's with the exception of two 9's they were happy. But on the Z I gave a lot of 10's but a couple of 7's and one 4. It was deserved. Well they cried like bychez. I should have gotten better service for buying a car that always has feature and color availability issues.
I say, if its so important? Do your shyt right the first time. I also bought from one ofb the highest selling nissan dealers in North texas and in the state. |
Post pics when you pick the Z up. I'm curious to what that dealer looks like. You should take a pic of the dealership also lol.
