Gentex Mirror in UAE

Hi all - Two questions: Which Gentex mirror should I get? There seem to be about 10 different models, and I can't find a site that tells me the difference

Default Gentex Mirror in UAE

Hi all -

Two questions:

Which Gentex mirror should I get? There seem to be about 10 different models, and I can't find a site that tells me the difference between them all. One guy on the forum recommended the Gentex 50-Genk51A. Is this a good one?

Also, once I get it, is it easy to hook up myself? (I'm smart but not particularly mechanically inclined)

Finally, I live abroad in the UAE. There is a disclaimer saying the HomeLink system might not work in other countries. My car is a US manufactured car (if that matters) that I imported. Would the HomeLink work here? How do I find out?

I put the wrong model number in my question. I'm looking for a Gentex mirror that has the rearview camera to be specific. Debating whether I should buy the $690 Nissan one (will that work in a 2009?) or a Gentex version.

If I buy Gentex, where should I buy it and what model?

Hi neighbour

the home-link depends on the frequency used if am not mistaken and thats why it might not work.

they make Z's in the US?

you can get ones that only has self-dimming or ones with a compass. if you dont have a large lcd HU, might look at ones with LCD for rearview camera. gl!

I don't know if Amazon ships to UAE but search for Gentex on their site. Much better mirror descriptions and yes, you can get one with backup display and homelink.

I installed one on my wife's Frontier and it was pretty straightforward. Hardest part was keeping the wires tidy and hidden under the plastics.
