Red face Called out!

I'm temporarily assigned right now for some military training. There's a guy in my class with a red 2007 nizmo 350z. I guess he saw me leave my car this morning in the parkin lot. Anyways during our break he walks up to me wanting to race. He was asking what I had in it so I told him and politely told him that I would beat him in an all out drag race. He replys by telling me I have no idea about his nismo an that he has brembo brakes, better suspension and a nizmo tune exhaust! I thought to myself for a sec somewhat confused thinking to myself, "what the hell does brembo brake and suspension have anything to do with a 1/4 race?" I then told him his nizmo does 13.7 stock and a straight base model 370 does 13.2. He just kept on blabbering about his brakes n stuff. I just told him I don't street race and he walked away thinking I was scared lol! What a freaking retard!

I don't like to street race cuz of obvious reasons.

Get used to it. I can't drive down the street without every corvette reving their engines at me. I'm not 16 anymore. Tell him to meet you at a track and have fun.

Corvettes rev at you? How old is the driver?! Usually the Vette drivers don't like to race anything unless they're in their mid to low 20's.

But most Vette owners are in their late 40s or older.

its a lose lose situation

you'd win but then the guy would say he lost cuz his clutch is slipping or his brakes are fading and thus its an unfair race, haha.

I thought I was the only one. I had a local guy tell me about how much faster he is than anyone, then I asked what his times were at any of our local tracks. He said the famous words you quoted above.

How the hell can you know if you're fast if you have no logical benchmark

Don't race him on any public road...ever. Resist the temptation. Encourage track use. Always.

Don't even bother encouraging track use....what is even the point of going to a track to settle a senseless challenge that doesn't amount to jack-squat in the greater scheme of life? Encourage instead the resistence of an obvious infantile urge...

I'm sorry but I think it's unrealistic to think certain people will just become mature overnight, especially young testosterone filled ones. If you can change the attitude of just one pseudo-street racer to take it off the streets and on to the track, you've done a good thing. Maybe even saved a life.
