covers for your z
I just purchased a cover for my 370z roadster from covers direct. I ordered the cover that offered the best protection (according to their chart) from rain and snow. The cover fit like a glove and I had an extra 12 inches added so the cover would reach all the way to the ground, not to the center of the wheels like most covers do. It was not a cheap cover and not an expensive cover, approx $200.00. The negative part is, it offers no protection from rain, after an overnight rain that was not heavy enough to wet the streets, I removed my cover only to find my car all wet. It also is not lined.
I had purchased a $99.00 cover from pep boys, and even though I had to get one larger than recommended for my car so that it would reach to the ground, it never leaked a drop of water or snow in over 3 years and came lined and with an attached click together strap for securing the cover. It was totally breathable, I had no moisture or mold on the inside of the cover or on my car. When I talked to Covers direct they assured me that their add was never meant to be construed as anywhere near waterproof or weatherproof, merely water resistant. So as a car fanatic who does not have a garage, if you are in the market for a car cover to protect your car from the elements, buyer beware, shop elsewhere, call and find out exactly what protection their car covers provide. If I wanted my car to get wet, I wouldn't have spent $200.00 plus dollars for a car cover! Well, back to shopping for another cover! |

To be fair their website has numerous covers most within $200 for our cars... they have three categories; water, dirt, and uv. 3 are claiming to be waterproof (based on the chart) one of which is 225 and the other two are closer to 300... which one did you get? It doesn't seem like there are any that are "best" because none fully excel in each category. Warnings are a good thing but they should be fully disclosed and honest.
