Default Want the Sport Package but dont like spoiler? PICS

For those of you like me; I had to have the Sport Pack but was not a fan of the spoiler. It's not that the spoiler is ugly but I prefer the clean lines of the Z without it...and the spoiler hides the nice character line that wraps around the hatch. Not to worry...there is a free & easy solution with no painting or drilling! Find someone with a non-sport pack car in the same color, swap hatches, and viola!

Didnt know if this was considered a 'mod' to be placed in interior/exterior section or not...move if neccessary admin

Looks good. I'm a spoiler fan though, I like the look A LOT better with the spoiler, but to each their own. Looks good either way =)

That's pretty cool and a good way to save someone 600+ bucks that wanted the spoiler but not the sports package.

Isn't there a black VIN tag on the underside of the hatch? Did you swap that as well?

I also like the 370 without the spoiler!

^^^good call AK - I noticed several pics of JDM 370s have the sport pack with no spoiler, I assume the spoiler is a stand alone option in the JDM?

On a side note --- the hatch is VERY light! Although I didnt have the time to actually put it on a scale I would estimate it weighed about 35-40lbs ish. MUCH lighter than the steel 350z hatch

The hatch and doors are made of aluminum to reduce weight . Still there is a 2lb metal weight in the 370Z hatch so that you can close it easily.

I also agree that the rear end looks much cleaner without the spoiler. You're pretty lucky to be able to find someone to swap with. But I gotta ask what some others have asked, VIN sticker swapped?

I love the look of the spoiler, very tasteful and not too boy racer.

No, we didnt swap the black VIN decal. Didnt see a need to nor do I think its possible to remove and retick that thing without it looking altered.
