I'm struggling with the same color choice. One factor I'm considering is the attention that the bright colors get from police. Red has always been known for attracting negative attention, and I suspect the yellow will run a close second, and the blue third. The black is probably a distant fourth. The white, graphite and silver will all remain fairly neutral to the police, but also will not provide the "attention" one might WANT from observers. Anyway, these are strictly opinions, and right or wrong they are in my head.
One other factor that has always bothered me is how hot dark cars get inside, so the black is always going to be a no go for me, even if it does look sexy as hell. |

I had to get the blue myself. I've always wanted a blue car - wanted to paint my white 280ZX blue... Anyhow blue is tough to find in a good shade/tint/hue and the one on the 370Z is pretty sweet. It really shows off the lines of the car. However.... the yellow is also very nice and I doubt it would be any harder to keep clean than the blue or red and easier than the black or white. I personally think the yellow washes the lines of the car out somewhat but not like the white/black/silver. The yellow is going to be super rare as this is the only year its being produced so that may be a factor for some to consider. Tough call - if you are keeping your 280ZX Yellow and Blue look great together....

I can't say I am fan of either of these colors, I really wish the blue was closer to Daytona Blue that came on the Z33, that was beautiful color. Monterey Blue I feel is really close to being a sweet color, and as others have mentioned it looks great in low/evening light, if it were a tad richer I think it would look close to Royal Saphire Pearl which would have been epic.
I suppose I would choose the yellow because it is more subdued. Though both of them have a very dulled/nearly desaturated look I think it works better on the yellow. I have to say as well, the shape of the body has a lot of depth to it that darker colors seem to hide, I think the yellow brings it out quite nicely actually. If I had to switch colors I would have gone with the red, but I think that white is the only color that does the design proper justice, of course I may be biased though. |

Go yellow!!!
But seriously, this is a really tough decision. I fought with this for awhile myself. I saw the blue for the first time in person last weekend. It has the metallic flake and it is gorgeous! Ultimately I had to go with yellow again. I just love the color too much. My yellow 350 looks clean even when it's not. It doesn't show dirt very well.
