I have a lemon, but involves the paint. Currently working with Nissan to resolve.

Just as mentioned above, it has to be 3 or 4 related repair attempts within a certain time frame depending on the state. Separate issues with electrical do not count such as clock and camera and radio and ignition would all be separate and would need 3 or 4 repair attempts each, again depending on state laws. Nissan is only going to qualify the vehicle if it meets the terms just as pretty much any car company....same with recalls...only when enough reports go to the NHSA does a recall happen....

Sorry to hear about your issue, Is nissan telling you directly they won't work with you or is it the stealership telling you.
In Sept. of 2010 I was able to trade in and nissan paided the difference in price. The General Manager went to bat for me. I filed a formal complaint with nissan on Monday, They countered my offer on Wenesday (extended warranty) we settled by Friday. Good Luck hope it all works out. |
i would call an attourney. most counsultations are free, and they would know exactly what to look for to determine whether or not you have a case. and a lot of times when the attourney sends that first letter to the dealership, which basically lets them no that you are seeking legal counsil, they usually, but not always, change their attitude. good luck and sorry you are going through this, man.

A letter from an attorney may be just what you need to get the dealership to take you seriously. Also, if you have not yet contacted Nissan Corporate I recommend you do so immediately. Go up the chain as much as you have to - I've been through similar problems. It was with a local crooked body shop, but a letter from the attorney was apparently all that was needed to get them to fix their mistake with no more hassles.

I have been working with Nissan and BBB. The camera was manufacturer installed at the port so considered factory installed. Nissan is paying for all the warranty work. It has just been a nuisance taking the car back. It goes back the dealer for the fifth time this Friday. 47 days out of service and counting.
I did a letter from the BBB stating they are reopening the claim because the car has not been fixed. Hell, I didn't know they closed the case. Thanks for all your help. |
