Does anyone use synthetic oil in their 370z?

I've been using Synthetic oil in my 2009 370Z from around 7,000 miles. Is using Synthetic bad for the engine or good? I'm getting mixed reviews.

I think most people are using either a good synthetic or the Nissan Ester oil -- haven't heard of anyone staying with normal oil after their first couple of oil changes. Check the search function -- tons of oil related threads

I don't see why using synthetic is bad for ur car. I would think conventional oil is bad

I use synthetic, no problems. I would think a high quality synthetic would be better for our engines.

...you're fine sticking with synthetic. Just don't mix and stick to one. Nissan 'recommends' Ester, but going with something like Mobile 1 or Red line if fine.

I use synthetic.

88k almost 89k on the odo and no issues with Mobil 1

I've been using Mobil 1 since my first oil change. It's cheaper and more readily available than redline. I have had no issues either.

that's becuase there is never a clear answer to it. It's mostly people saying "use this because I have used it and it works for me" Lot of people have brand loyalty, which if fine IMO.

I ran regular oil the first 1200 miles. Nissan Ester 1200 to 5000. Now I'm running Royal purple. Till I hit 10k. I might switch to redline and stay??? But for right now I'm loving Royal purple. So far it runs just as well in my engine as redline, which I've had in my G37. Castrol edge is an extremely good lower end synthetic if these are too expensive? Mobil1 is what the dealerships run and its good as well.
