It seems to be a popular brand in Australia but I don't know much about it as it isn't sold anywhere else that I'm aware of. You can search for dissections on bobistheoilguy.com, you might find it is a rebrand of something else.

thanks chris, also updated my last post and wanted to confirm whether the flush nissan recommended is necessary? i'll steer clear of it if there's a chance it'll do more harm than good.

Probably unnecessary. There isn't any easy way to do a pressurized flush of the oil system so they probably would just run through an extra 5 quarts of oil, run the engine for a bit and then drain it back out. It's not like you fill the engine with sulfuric acid or anything.

fair enough, in that case i'll just ask them to drain the oil and save time by replacing it with the good stuff

Unless you watch them put your oil in, how are you to know if the mechanic doesn't keep yours.

Why not do your own oil change, at least you know you did it right.
