iTouch (2nd generation) charging not supported
My 2nd generation iTouch has the message "Charging is not supported with this interface" when I plug it to the 370 Z ipod interface cable.
Does anyone else have the same problem? |

I had it with my Nano. Apple changed the wiring or something in the new devices. You need to go to an Apple store, or look online and get an adaptor. It cost about 25 bucks.

Try to avoid the Scosche adapter. They look nice and all but the first one I received had massive static feedback and the second unit I received would randomly disconnect and reconnect every 10 minutes or so.

I've had the Scosche for a little over two weeks now and haven't had any issues. It's a little frustrating that you have to buy the adaptor. The Z came out after these newer ipods, but it may be that you can only make a cable that will work with either the older 12V models or the newer 5V models. Maybe I should just be pissed at Apple for not leaving well enough alone.

Thanks for all the helpful information.
I will check with my local dealers to see if they have the 12V to 5V adapter for the 370 Z Ipod interface cable. |
