It drove me nuts, I mean how could Nissan not noticed how clunky the m6 was? I would have gladly taken the HR motor in the 370z if it meant more R&D into a smoother gearbox. The redline fluid helped A LOT but why should that be necessary?

Look, you can disagree with my opinion but don't make conclusory statements about what I did with the Z, why I bought it, or allude that I sound like someone who "ran out of $ and got pissed." I know the Z is not a quarter mile monster, and I did not "street race" it like a dumb teenager. I am lucky that I have friends and associates who are into cars as well and we have a variety of vehicles amongst us. I suggest you focus on the statements I made out the Z such as oil heat/consumption issues, clunky transmission etc. If you want to continue to disparage me as an owner well then .

I didn't expect everyone to smile and agree with all my statements but I do have a special perspective on the car due to my 3 year experience and ownership, maybe you're just pissed that I'm big enough to realize and mention the faults, if you look closely many guests are reading the post, they may be potential buyers and I find no problem in giving them the big picture.

well, i too have 3yrs experience and ownership worked with turbos and superchargers ecu tuning, awd, fwd, rwd, etc. in the past on other cars.. just saying not everyone sees the Z the way that you do.

i never said the Z was perfect either. hell i dont think any car is perfect. it's good enough for street in stock form and some sporting fun on the weekends. that is the Z. it's not a race car, it's a sports car for weekend fun.

to the

Now back to the regular scheduled programming.

NYBladeZ you make very valid points and have a great perspective when it comes to your feedback on the car with all you have done to it. Some just need to step back with the love for the Z and notice that it has its flaws. I agree with your points on the oil issue and transmission. But I think with any sports car there are always room for improvements. Does the perfect car really exist? Or are you always going to be trying to make it go that little bit faster, stop a little bit quicker or corner a little bit harder. This is the passion that drives an enthusiast no matter what they drive.

Good luck with the house and hope you find that next best thing when the time is right and enjoy the

Yeah the upper limit of my car seems to be around 400 whp with everything short of FI from what I've seen. (this coming from a 4.0 V8)

Of course I could always get one of THESE to the tune of $26k

LOL! I drove my Z to school and work today and everytime I made a smooth as melting butter shift I thought of all the complaints on this forum about the hard notchy shifting and started laughing. People in the other cars must think I'm nuts. I dont disagree that there are cars out there like the S2K that have a better feeling gearbox but I said it once and I will keep saying, 99.9% of the complaints I hear about this gearbox is due to bad stick drivers.

Smooth as butter relative to...a sentra?

Have you ever owned a car with a decent transmission?

Genesis's are beating 370's now? Interesting, didn't realize I bought such a crappy car.
I think you should look into Ferrari, mclaren, Lamborghini etc because it sounds like you'll never be able to appreciate what you have if someone beats you off a light.

So you highlighted my quote but disregarded the part about "I highly doubt it though"? I don't believe I ever said it was crappy by any means, please don't be ignorant. Anyways guys I think I'm going to lock the thread, I want to thank the members who repped me bc of it but I don't want it to steamroll into a troll fest.
