Question Will It Fit?

Just wondering if I lined my cabin with blankets if I could get four OEM-sized tires to fit? Maybe one in the passenger footwell, one in the passenger seat and two in the hatch?

What say you?

Honestly, I don't think so. The rears are 275's. Pretty big.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. See, I'm thinking about driving 1 1/2 hrs away to get them mounted at a place that was recommended to me, but don't want to ask my wife to drive down there as well in her Xterra.

I just don't want any schmo mounting the tires on my Sport Rays.

To be honest, I'm literally freaking a bit about having just anyone work on my car. Wish I'd had the presence of mind to have them drop shipped at this location down in Melbourne, but I just found about them this week.

Not a chance man. Considering you can only fit one wheel with no tire back there and not touch the sides. Last week I brought 19" Rays and new tires to the dealership to have them mounted. I had to use my buddy's WRX and we barely made it work. Put one wheel in my rear hatch, stuffed the rest in his Subie. Two wheels sitting on top of eachother in his passenger seat, the rest of the tires and wheels squished in his back seats and trunk. The guys at the dealership were amazed. My rear tires are 285, but they are so much bigger than you think when it comes time to move them.

I did it in a 350z. Granted the tires were smaller, but I also had to deal with the support brace in the trunk.

Thanks for the input man! I appreciate it. I didnt think it was likely, but thought I'd ask the question anyway.

Don't think you can get more than two in the Z . One in back hatch and one on the passenger seat. I just loaded up new Michelins SS to mount and only could load two up. That was all I needed since my tread on the front was still good. Best way to do it if you want four mounted is buy tires from Tirerack on line and have them sent to the installer which is an option to mailing to your address. Then simply drive down.

No problem man. Sounds like your situation is almost identical to the one I had. I'll upload the pictures I took. We barely made it in one trip.

i picked up a set of tires and wheels for a buddy of mine, granted they were all 225 18s, i got 2 in the hatch (barely) and the other 2 on passenger side, wider tires is going to be a really really tight squeeze if it is possible

An inch wider in diameter and two in width will make a big difference from what you were hauling! Heheh! It's a lost cause, no way I'm even going to attempt the feat!

Happy,
How about putting your Z on jack stands and taking all four wheels off and throwing them in the back of your wifes Xterra? The Z doesn't need to be there to have tires mounted on the wheels.

I'm loving that colour in the sun!

Nothing can ever be as spectacular as the blue of course but.. that picture/silver is really awesome!

Thanks, I totally agree! Monterey Blue will probably ALWAYS be my favorite Z color.
