Honestly... the Fairlady name took years for me to accept it. But when I read the whole story behind the naming of the car and the japanese culture in how they express admiration... I gained a new respect for it.
Now I'm waiting for the Fairlady emblem to restock so I can attach it

On the topic, I think the Ferrari Califonia is weird, why will an Italian legendary auto maker name its car with an state name of a foreign country, can't they use a name of a region or city from their own country??

My dad had a 1970 240z when I was a kid. He bought his in 1975 and did auto cross and track events almost every weekend until the early 80's. Usually with me as his only crew. It was his dd for that entire time too. I remember him telling me about the Fairlady name and why it wasn't called that here in the states. To me the Fairlady moniker has as much prestige and heritage as "Boss" or "SS".
That's why the Fairlady badge was one of my first mods.

I don't see anything wrong with 'Quicksilver' for a car name. It means mercury, yes, but Murcielago means bat, a flying rodent that likes to create giant poop mountains filled with flesh-eating beetles.

Anyway it's all Faux News, so it doesn't mean shiz.

Hahahaaa... like the Lamborghini Reventón. Reventón means blowout. So if you buy one will your tires spontaneously combust every trip?

Lamborghini names their car after fighting-bulls. It is their tradition, and that's why their company logo is a fighting-bull.

Here is the history of Reventón I copied from Wikipedia:

"The Reventón is named for a fighting bull, in line with Lamborghini tradition. The bull, raised by the Don Heriberto Rodríguez family, was best known for killing famed Mexican bullfighter Félix Guzmán in 1943.[9][10] Reventón means "explosion" or "burst" in Spanish, when used as a noun.[11][12] In the vernacular, it is also used to define a very large party or a night in town. In automotive terms, it means "blowout, flat tire" when used as a noun.[13] When it was used as the name of a bull, however, it was intended to be interpreted as an adjective, a quality or property of that bull in particular. In this last sense, Reventón means "he who seems to be about to burst" "





Since Reventón means "flat tire" in automotive terms, we can call it Lamborghini Flat-Tire.
