Looking into getting a 370z. First Timer.

I drive a Volkswagen CC. Love the car, probably gonna keep it after the lease expires since I modded the hell out of it and it's way over-mileage. (Allowed 45000 over 3 years but I'm already at 70000 miles).

Looking into getting a 370Z soon, probably within the next 2-3 months. Is the Nismo version worth it, or should I just get the base 370Z and mod that?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. If you are a modder, the base may be a better start. Look at the options and the sport package too for your usage. Good luck with your search for the Z that fits you.

I would get the base no question then make it exactly how you want it..in my opinion the nismo body kit doesn't even compare to the amuse kit or anything aftermarket like that..so for me no question just a sport then make it sick

Sport model and call it a day. still get Synchro rev and an LSD

If you plan on modding the shyt out of it in the interior and exterior? My advice is get a base or base sport depending if you will want the akebono and rays forged? If you are going to leave the interior stock? Get a tour sport. If you will lightly mod, Intake/exhaust or just FI and that's it. Go NISMO.

if you like the styling of the nismo get it. the rest, you can mod and go beyond a nismo quite easily.

Welcome...... That is a lot of miles on the Volkswagen CC. You are probably better off keeping it.

As everyone as already stated go with the base or the Nismo. You know what you want to-do & not want to-do possibly to your future Z. If you want to go crazy & mod the hell out of it, then go with the base Z. If you only want to-do intake & exhaust, then go with Nismo. I bought a Nismo b/c all I want to-do is intake & exhaust. I will put CAI once I am over 5k miles.

Well, I'm not sure if an intake/exhaust would get me the changes I want. From what I understand, the Nissan 370Z is a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder. What's the best turbo/supercharger kit available + chip upgrade?

Another car that I'm considering is the Subaru BRZ. But I already have a 4-banger + turbo. Only thing that it gives me is that it is lightweight, and rear wheel drive. I know that in a straight, the 370Z will leave it in the dust.

When I go on the track, I prefer autocrossing. The 370Z has a lot more power, but with the curves and lack of straights on the autocross circuit, will the the power matter?

Thanks

If you're going the FI route I'd say just buy a faster car.

In that case, would I be better off with a BMW 135i?

look into the GTM Twin Turbo Kit, it offers 4 stages, 4th stage max 1000hp!!

I'd say so. Can make some very good power with even just a tune.

how do u define faster?

in a straight line? yes a 135i will beat a 370.

on a track or some twisty back roads? no, they cant

370z = sports car
135i = sports coupe

+1....... On top of that the BMW 1 Series looks like it has down's syndrome. The 1M is cleaner looking than the regular 1 Series.
