I have a crap load of pine treees that drop a ton of needles into the pool. So it is an all day job to drian, clean out and then fill using the fire departments tanker to refill. Just a note the guy that had the pool installed sold pool supplies out of the garage.

That's a nice sized pool you have there. But the drain is completely messed up. Fire truck to fill the pool?
Is that How most people do it?

Rank has it's privileges. I am an assistant chief. But yes we fill many pools every year. We are rural and have wells. Most people don't want to burn up their pump motor or deplete their wells. My pool holds about 18,500 gallons of water. Our tanker is 2000 gallons so approx 9 loads of water, I'll fill my hot tub too.

That makes sense I live in more rural.setting as well (with a water well) and always wondered how my neighbors fill their pool. I Don't think they drain it though, just cover it.

Most of our fills are new pools or ones that had to be repaired due to a hole in the liner. I have to drain mine due to the pine needles. I'm going to have a guy come and give me an estimate to get the trees removed.

I had a guy that was going to do it last winter but he cancelled. Hope in the next month or so the trees will be gone.

There isn't a bolt there to make it more difficult for a thief to defeat it quickly.
