yah, imho our Z's for front should be running ET30 and higher but due to most vendors wanting to sell as well to the G35/350Z/Genesis (?) fanclub + bbk clearance, they always source the agressive sizes...
I don't mind ET30+ if the wheel is wider. That way I would be using more of the useable space within the wheel well. I think in the rear the Time attack wheels are 12" ET40

Understeer is a PITA but it saves most inexperienced drivers.

wow, ET40 for rear...damn.. i completely agree about filling up the wheel wells. unless you're one of those hellaflushatoilet guy you want the wheels and tire tucked in a tad to minimize drag.

Hey Ken Yes, I agree. Next set of tires I order will be 265 up front for sure.

A lot of it is preference, too. Some prefer understeer to oversteer. Generally the idea is to get the car as close to neutral as you can and adjust it from there. I prefer a neutral car with a bias towards oversteer, which is where I am now with the 5.0.

My S2000 is a little like that, too. When I drive it I am turning off of the outside rear wheel.

i dont track my car but i do know my limits. it's good to check out your setup in the rain. much less speed needed to find out wat your car is like.

most crashes happen when things are loose on the road...like unexpected puddles, gravel, sand, any debris. driving in downpour will net you a lot of experience.

I dont drive the Z in the rain anymore, but when I first got it it was my only vehicle so I drove in anything chicago weather gave me. It did pretty well in downpour rain considering the facts (young male + rwd sports car + heavy rain + low visibility + lots of cars = lol).

whenever i do new setups i always drive my car in the rain...ideally downpours..even though i hate washing and detailing her. i do the usual... fast(er) take off, hard acceleration while turning, off-apex throttle up, etc. anything that would offset the balance and toss around cog.
