There are a lot of douchebag drivers on the road.. but how you react to them is equally important. Be mature and on the defensive side as drivers. Don't get into pissing contests with retard kids in crappy cars. We're in Z's.. we're already better than them.

Nicely put.

Suburban and Ford Escape SUV

So there I was minding my own business traveling about a little over the speed limit on the 24 mile long Causeway Bridge from New Orleans to the North Shore - speed limit being 65, I'm traveling 70 in my Z. As I got on the Bridge on the south shore, I pass a Ford Escape SUV, nothing out of the ordinary, I'm traveling in one lane, and he is in the other. About 7 to 8 miles he creeps up on me, gets in front (not a cut off) and then slows down till I have to swap lanes and pass him up. I still am on cruise at 70. I don't even touch the accelerator. He speeds up, gets in front of me and slows down again, except now every time I crept up on him (still in cruise), he sped up to not let me get ahead. A Suburban now joins in, who passes me up in a hurry, only to slow down in front of me. I have to swap lanes again to keep going my speed. I passed them at cruise, only to have them speed up and pass me up again, then slow down. Still on cruise, I approach them again to pass, they start accelerating...ok, I'm fed up with this game... I down shift, give it a little gas and shoot by to about a mile ahead and then get back on cruise... they speedily catch up with me and pass me up fast, only to slow down and keep pace ahead of me...By that time we are reaching the end of the bridge, and I just slow down to the exit speed and turn to where I am going while they continue ahead... What in the heck were they trying to prove? What where they trying to accomplish? Did they prove their manliness by thwarting a 370Z and passing her up? Really? All I wanted was to enjoy the nice drive and the nice weather, much less race a..what? A Ford Escape..?? A Suburban? Wow...What possess people to behave like @$$E$$ when they meet up a Z? Do they do the same for a Porsche? A Viper? A Ferrari? I think not. It's something with the Z. Don't ask me what, but it seems it may have to do with respect... we just don't get much in the way of respect. Not that I care a flip - I love my car, I love driving it, and all those @$$E$$ can go to HEII... :gtfo2:

I hate when people do this ****. I encounter this all the time. Someone passes you then gets in front of you and slows down 5 mph. All I want to do is cruise with my cruise control on. Soon as you go to pass them they are accelerating. So obnoxious

There's something about the 370z that screams "CHALLENGE ME" to the ricers just as there is something about the GTR that screams "DON'T F*** WITH ME" to them. I've had a Civic SI nearly rear-end me with my wife in the car, a Toyota Solara cross over in my lane to entice me to race... none of which phased me. I've found that most ricers don't like being laughed at. I got one of the most persistent ricers off my lane by faking a sharp turn right on his car on an empty highway stretch. He left me alone after that. I never realized till then that ricers did care about their cars no matter how beat up/ugly they are :icon17:

Since i am 52, and I have built a lifetimes worth of Net worth, I will not let the street trolls get to me...

There is one everyday that i drive the 370Z or the Z/28...I cannot and will not drive like i did 20 years ago...

Way too much to lose...So the losers win the race off the light, and I win the game of Life..

That is how I deal with it...

That's because the Z is the next class up form their cars and since they couldn't afford one, they like to think/hope they can take on on to make themselves feel better about their crappier car. The GTR is too many classes above and they know it's hopeless even under the best conditions.

The Z is like a velociraptor, it can kill you, but it's not overpowering and you feel you might be able to survive.

The GTR is like a T-rex, you don't mess with it. ( I didn't use godzilla because I couldn't think of a smaller Godzilla equivalent for the comparison)

That is a good, mature, and appropriate way to look at it.

People often ask how fast can that bike go. I tell 'em, it's not about straight line speed. It doesn't take a whole lot of skill to twist the throttle or step on the pedal. It's about how fast can one go through technical corners while maintaining control of the vehicle. I often get a dumbfounded look afterwards as though what I just said was in greek.

I can still remember when I put my Mustang sideways through a turn (drifted it Through) before I knew what drifting was...LOL... Not anymore...! :wtf2:

This should be our daily Motto as we drive our Z's: "The Losers win the race off the light, but We win the Game of Life!" :driving:
