370Z 2nd hand and/or pattern spares in UK??
Hi there guys, apologies if Im going over old ground here, but Im pretty new to posting in forums such as these, so any help or critique would be appreciated
I own a 2010 370 GT Sat-Nav (SW), which after some joyriding toerag nicked it and put it through a dry stone wall, is now a shadow of its former self Anyway, the insurance company wont pay out yet, as there is a criminal investigation on-going as they so delicately put it. I just want my car fixed, and get back to destroying rear tyres like we used to ;-) Are there any spares dealers that people in the UK use for either used, discounted or pattern parts?? A lot of the sites Im hitting cover the 350, but not the 370. Am I being a tool, and looking in the wrong places?? Cars coming back on tuesday, and I'm itching to get cracking, but to order all spares from Nissan is MAHOOOSIVELY gonna pull my pants down. Has anyone here got any similar experience of rebuilding a smashed 370 or indeed building a track special?? Im not fussed about OEM style panels etc. GRP is light after all!!! I have rebuilt classics before from nut n bolts, but this job is proving far more difficult in terms of finding dedicated specialists!! Respectfully yours, B |

Sorry mate but I gotta be honest, I'm not understanding what you're asking here. Are you asking about spare tires? Or do you mean you want to replace all the damaged parts of your car and take into the track? If that's the case, and you want a dedicated track beast, then there are a lot of replacement parts available that are made out of carbon fiber, like the hood, front quarter panels, bumpers, doors, and rear hatch. Google "seibon carbon fiber 370z" in the shopping section and see what comes up. If you just want tires, there should be plenty of used tire shops that can set you up for some burnables
If you can be a little bit clearer for my foggy Saturday morning brain I might be able to help you better. Cheers! Sent from my iPizzle using magic and new fangled science stuff.

Hi there, sorry for the lack of clarity man!! Yeah, what it is - I need to replace the left hand front side of the car totally. Bonnet, wing, inner wing, suspension - basically everything from the a-pillar forwards. Engine/Trans are good, so its part structural, part cosmetic. Problem is, I'm looking for advice on which way to go with the rebuild yeah?? What disadvantages will I find with say Carbon other than expense versus say GRP?? Im guessing that aftermarket parts will come in substantially cheaper than OEM Nissan spares, which when Ive added up all the parts mentioned, plus rad, trans cooler, assorted other pipework etc etc, it is eyewatering the figure. The car's gonna be a DD with occasional track use, so Im gonna put an oil cooler in to that end, but its the other stuff. What experiences have people had with fit of aftermarket stuff?? If it is as pain in the *** as a lot of glassfibre kits I've experienced, I may just not bother lol! I want the car to look stock, but if I can shed some weight in the process - happy days!
I suppose in its simplest form, Im hoping someone can say something like "yeah you can get better brakes cheaper from *****, and they work great!" for example!? Hope that doesnt make me sound like too much of a dumb ***!? No probs with tyres, I think that may just be my bad writing! Got a good tyre supplier - I NEED IT! Its advice on rebuilding my car without generally getting shafted anally by those corporate giants in the land of the rising sun Thanks for your response though man |

A lot of people modify there cars and sell the leftover pieces off this board. Look in the for sale section down a bit in this forum. You can either throw money or time at the car. If you need things very soon it will probably be at a premium price tag. If you can wait and build up the parts over several months you will save some. Depends on what you want there. The structural damage will be more of a problem. That is not usually a remove and replace proposition. Someone rebuilt a salvage 370 within the last year and posted his progress on the build thread, you might find that and see how he went about it.
Good luck with the project ! |

Thanks Dart!!
I had a look at that guy's salvage project, nicely done indeed! Yes, that is the way im gonna move forward, I'm not in a mad rush to get it done. Wish mine had rear end damage instead of front quarter, but hey ho! The shell isnt twisted thankfully, but it needs a new n/s/f rail / inner wing - which is deformed from approximately an inch forward of the bulkhead. Thanks for the encouragement dude, I will post pics charting my progress from zero to hero hopefully Unless there is a nice benevolent reader of this thread who has a mint 370 bare shell, that he or she doesnt want anymore ;-) |
