I hate putting miles on mine but I love driving it so much. I couldn't imagine buying a second car and driving it when I know I have a Z at home.

Eleven days.
Didn't want to push it too hard. |
I use mine as a DD. I don't want to sometimes, but I do. sometimes its a pain in the *** worrying about people touching my car. but then again I do live in daytona
|
I had it in 3 and half weeks after that 4 weeks of garage queen, I'll be out of the country. I wanna RIIIIDDE my baby!!! Hey I got mine in Daytona Nissan.

3 weeks.. 300 week 1 .. oil change 1, 600 week 2.. DD & weekend drives .. oil change 2 week 3 @ 1000 .. to full synth.
for DD's.. get packs of microfiber towels, and quick detail solution.. do a wipe down of front, mirrors, fenders etc., get any bug n sap n stuff off asap. I'll do wipe at night and review in morning.. white flecks of limestone will glue down if not taken out fast. dusters good pre-ride home, get dust and pollen etc. off. get small detail sprayer and keep in car with towel.. test it won't leak. autogeek.net has lots of stuff for all this.. oh yeah, plant sprayer with distilled water will blow off mineralizing spotting post wash, or morning rain or lawn sprinkle. worth it to get polish glaze and seal then wax it.. wax wheels too, easy to wipe, but need to mark towels so don't mix for wheel, paint, vinyl, glass etc. stay 6-8 car lengths back in traffic, pass only if no one there, no more lane changing as gets too close to those spinning wheels shooting out grit and stones.. especially on hi-way construction miles. don't park under trees, sap and pine cone damage not worth shade. |

This coming Thursday will be 4-weeks and will hit 1200 by that time. I am going to enjoy driving this car. My last sports car was an 06 C6 vette that I had for over 4-years and sold with ~ 10K miles. I regret not having driven it more and won't make that mistake with the Z.
|
Hell, I put 1,100 miles on my Z this weekend, road trip to see the in-laws for Easter. ;)
Now I have a lot of bugs to remove. :( |
This is my DD. I commutte about 120 miles per day, so I hit 1200 in about the 2nd week or so. A car is the worse investment you will make unless you're buying something in the six figures area and collect. Drive the darn thing.
|
The first 1200 miles took 3 weeks. The next 4000 miles took 6.25 months. I'm at 54xx miles now. :) my car is a chillin car, not a commuter. :) but I like to enjoy it. Not put ,1200 miles a year. Lol.

Got it at the end of february, and have above that already. I like driving my car.

1k 10k 250k
replying due hitting 10k this week, 8 months after 1rst drive.
10k is milestone of sorts, end of 'honeymoon' no-issue period, traditionally, and cap for the much maligned VSC/warranty extension limit for lower end pricing ; did do a 4yr/48k gold pref last week for extra mileage w/Nissan. My first Z, 08 350e, had a full trans change @ 25k, also 1 rear strut fail, 1 catalytic sensor burnout, about same time -all $5k+ worth covered under stock warranty. Plus window motor replaced after warranty, $380. All to say that VSC seems worthwhile for near term failures. A DD it is, tinted and getting fog light; would like pressure gauge to replace clock, but problematic. Heard the expression, 'when I rest, I rust'? 'Rust never sleeps' is another way to put it. Point is, nothing gets better with disuse, rubber compresses, hardens, etc. All electric power probably will dominate around 2025 - 30 too. Therefore, drive it as much as possible; to work, to play: we're at the end of the ICE age (internal combustion engine) & the start of fuel cell world. 250K in 10 years, anyone? |
