help with "the wait!!!!"
 

so my Z is due to arrive in a month, but i can't handle it!!! i check this site every day, multiple times!!!

i look at mics of my car (black/persimmon) every day. i'm freaking out and can not wait till it gets here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i go to dealers in my spare time and look at the floor models. i've already set up my clear bra, tints, bought zaino products, made an appt for lojack...

i'm f%!ked!!! any tips on how to pass the time????

I've waited 11 weeks so far. Day and Night I dream of the car. I will call my dealer this weekend to see if it's in yet. I wish I could take back that down payment and go buy one right now cause they have plenty now.

The worst thing you can do for yourself is get on this site. It will make things even worse. I should know. LOL.

:icon18: Agreed. I waited over two months for my car and this site did nothing but make the wait harder.

take OC's wash em down with booze and watch the stanley cup and nba finals with your periodic tuning to you local sports team oorrr you can just spend alot of quality time with the wife or girlfriend now so that you dont have too when the car arrives. me personally id do the 2nd of the two but alot of people would do the 1st. lol

I like having this as a distraction more so than what was on my mind before.

And this site also provides a boost to the economy!;)

We all have been there, i waited 3 months and picked the Z up 2 weeks ago wednesday. Well worth the wait, just hang in there. There was a thread awhile back about the same topic and i was in there doing the same thing you are.

i agree that this site makes the wait harder, but i'm addicted!!!!!

the nba & nhl finals are welcome distractions, but i'm a teacher so i'm now off for summer... nothing to do but wait!!!

I had to wait 2 DAYS and those were probably the longest day in my life. When I got a call from my dealer that they were unloading my Z from the truck, I wanted to scream in joy. But I was in public place and didn't think that was a good idea:icon14:

It's WORTH the wait. Trust me.... I love this machine....

Your location says Vegas.........go sit at the nickle slots and get plastered on a daily basis. Before you know it.........your car will be here.

As far as the other dude who is a teacher.....help out the summer school program and a month will fly right by.

What am I saying. I cant possibly give you any viable suggestions. Torment and torture are the only two things in your future until you get to drive your car. Do your best guys.

I know the feeling well. I traded my 2008 Accord V6 6MT coupe back in April. The dealer sold it the first week of May. I haven't had anything fun to drive (besides the Civic commuter car) since.:shakes head:
AND, my wife also owns a 2008 Accord V6 coupe. Do you know how it feels to be driven around by her (she won't let me drive it!)?? (Sorry Honey:icon14:)

Well, I just couldn't handle the wait! I could only hang in 1 month, then I bought one at the dealer that was 5K more than the one I ordered...but I LOVE IT!! I wonder if the car I ordered is even in yet....

....and now you remember what it was like being a kid just before Christmas ;) I was going to order mine in but the guy I was going to order from didn't work there when I was ready to pull the trigger so I looked around and found the exact(ish) car I wanted. The three days I had to wait till I could go pick it up was like 1000x the agongy of waiting to get the car just before that....

We feel you pain bro - hold in there! It is SO worth the wait.... and the agony...

I have 69 days to go on mine, and what I have been doing is planning on the mods carefully (if you're going to mod anything), learning about the pros and cons of all the options, and studying the owner's manual and DIYs posted here.

The more you learn now, the more you'll be able to hit the ground running when you finally get it!

Placed a deposit on Feb 11th and received car yesterday. Fully loaded Touring with 7AT and of course it's yellow. Had 9 miles on it.

i traded my 2006 350Z 5 weeks ago, and have been driving a 1997 jeep cherokee since. the jeep is in rough shape, so it has to be driven slowly and carefully...

still think your situation is worse? lol i'd say we're about even!

but at the end of the day, this is a problem MANY people would love to have: waiting for an incredible vehicle!!!

I can only imagine the agony. I have no patience. When I was ready I searched the internet and found one close enough to what I was looking for. I guess I was lucky. Hold on a while longer. It will be worth it.

I watch videos of the Z on YouTube. There's a surprising variety and number of videos on there.

I don't know if it "helps" all that much, but I ain't insane yet (I don't think). :drool:

Matt, you hit the nail on the head. I'm waiting for delivery as well, and you described exactly how I feel. Checking the forum every day, I even have the pics from Nissans press release of my car (PG with Persimmon) in my office. Just to remind myself what I am working for :-) But sorry, no tips on how to pass the time until the big day is there...

I'm the same boat bro. Placed the order May 15th and don't know when it will come. I think it is bothering my wife even more. She is always watching youtube vids of the Z. It will sure be sweet when it finally arrives.

what's cool about this agony is it allows grown men and women to relive the excitement of xmas and birthdays!!

nevertheless, this is still agony!!!! i signed april 27th, so i still have at least 5-6 weeks to go. i HATE driving my slow *** jeep cherokee in the spring/summer. i'm sure the day my Z arrives will be one the funnest days of my life!!!!

i've taken the advice of these posts and made some pre-arrival preperations: i arranged my clear bra and tint installation, bought a couple of black "Z" license plate holders, and picked up the illuminated kick plates on ebay (they're not an option in canada). nothing else to do now but wait...
