i'm ready to buy today, as long as its a canadian model

I'm looking for either black, or the dark grey with navi/sport packs

interior can be black or permisson.

The dealer tells me the earliest i can get a car is Mid July

Black on Black with the packages i want, not sure if i want to wait that long.

I'm hoping some of you know of a dealer that has the car i'm looking for in stock, so my dealer can do a trade. please let me know

thanks guys, so looking forward to getting this car.

the dealer should be able to look up inventory throughout canada. if they can't find it, you may be out of luck

As with any car, be prepared to travel. A 500 dollar airline ticket or 2 day car trip can end up saving you thousands in the long run!

He is in Canada though, and I'm sure it would be a royal PITA to bring an American spec model into Canada.

Ok.....please educate me. Whare are the differences between an American Z-car and a Canadian car?

I know the differences between American Porsches and ROW Porsches....but I am illiterate about Z-car differences.

The Canadian version is basically the same as the US model except the Canadian model is only available in Touring and comes stock with a LSD. Only options are Nav and Sports. Lighted door sill plates are not available. We do get the European Fog Lamp which is a nice little bling bling - er saftey device. It makes a unique looking car even more unique... nice touch...

As for finding a car in Canada check out Nissan Canada

Nissan Canada

I was going to custom order the car with the interior combo I wanted but when I was ready to order the guy who was gonna swing the deal no longer worked at the dealership. I started looking around to see if I could find anything instead of having to wait until the 2010 models. I found the exact car I wanted (Blue, Sports, no Nav, M6) and called to see what kind of deal I could make. Said they were firm on the price as it was the only one in Western Canada. I told them I'd call around and see what was out there. Turns out it wasn't just the only one in stock in Western Canada with that configuration but it was the only Sports package available period. So I called back with my tail between my legs and said I'd take it. I did manage to get $800 off the sticker price and they threw a few extras in as well. Definately recomend the King George Nissan dealership in White Rock unlike some of the other Vancouver dealerships who couldn't give me the time of day.

Soooo.... the 370Z is a rare car here in Canada and getting what you want is going to be difficult if you aren't custom ordering. We are just under 1/2 million here in Victoria and there is only two 370Zs that I know of - and I bought mine from Vancouver. If you are custom ordering its gonna be a long and painful wait - likely going to have to wait on the 2010 model if you are ordering now is the rumour.

The car is even more awesome than I thought. I can't belive I'm actually sitting here typing instead of driving around Get the Yellow - its going to be a super rare car - only being produced this year and I don't know of any that have been sold in Canada yet. There wasn't any Yellow of any configuration I've come across yet on the Nissan web page or in talking to dealers (for Western Canada)...

dieseldub,

finding a sport/nav in canada will be highly difficult, if not impossible. i ordered mine in late april, and i only got confirmation 3 weeks ago that it will be built and delivered.

i personally called EVERY dealer in ontario, and there are ZERO 6MT sport+nav models available in ANY color. coburg nissan has a white sport w/o nav, and that the closest you'll get.

if you can get IN WRITING a sport + nav by mid july, take it and consider yourself lucky!!!

not exactly sure about the Z, but canadians are very picky about safety and emission. Many cars sold in the US are not allowed in Canada due to safety regulations (one example i can think off top of my head is VW R32 due to inadequate bumper safety). Not to mention importing a car from the US now does not make much financial sense anymore. Due to the previous influx of US cars when exchange rate favored canadians, canadian auto industry had to readjust their price to match the US counterparts. The result: it's actually cheaper to buy in canada than to pay all the extra fees & taxes involved with importing a new vehicle.

dieseldub - when you are at the dealership, you can ask them to show you the inventory across canada on the monitor. they should have no reason to refuse (if they do, something's fishy). if they do find a matching car in another province, they can easily trade with the other dealership, but it will also be harder for you to bargain since it's more work for them...etc. IMO, just order one

Call Patrick at Sherwood Nissan in Edmonton.

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba and was having the same problems getting a 370. Called Patrick at the end of April and had my Magnetic Black with sport and Nav in 3 weeks. They even shipped it back to me! They are awesome and worth a phone call (780)449-5781 or 1-888-448-1685.

Don't forget wait times to order a vehicle all depend on when they are ready and being shipped from Japan. Dealers typically aren't miracle workers but customer service is worth dealing with a particular dealer.... EVO_Killer it was probably your timing that got you your car in three weeks Congrats btw!
