trim pedals? where??
just picked up my blck,m/t,sports package. It didn't have the aluminum trimmed pedals. I saw on the forum that its not the first time this has happend. I pointed it out to the sales manager. they are ordering me a set. just curious to know why this car didn't come with this standard feature like it should.

i never got the pedals either. Which is annoying, but I never really liked the ones on the touring, so I am trying to make my own.

ULTIMATE PEDALS |
ultimate pedals is not making them for the 370z yet. i have sent them 4-emails and asked if they need help with dimensions being as i am 30 min. away and i get nothing back.
|
Ultimatepedals does seem like a good option if/when they come out with something for us. A little pricey but it really seems like quality stuff.

Thought it was pretty STOOOPID that the Sports package doesn't include aluminum pedals. Not very "sporting" of them. :tiphat: |
actually if you look on the nissan website under spec.. aluminum trimmed pedal are or should be included standard.http://h1.ripway.com/holycow88/370zaluminumpedals.bmp

All-aluminum pedals is what we're looking for here. :) |

1. I called 5 times. Would you believe that they have no answering machine service? Gosh! I have not heard the 'busy tone' in 2 decades and was shocked that a company like Ultimate Pedals would actually not have such messaging system. 2. I emailed them. Guess what? No response. 3. Website looks decent, but that is the only plus I see so far. |

Honestly, the pedals are a little goofy looking anyway. It is very easy to replace them with quality solid aluminum parts. I'm sure any universal set can be made to work just fine.. |

Yes.

I am working right now but I will see what I can do later. They are aluminum trimmed as stated; the entire pedal is not aluminum. I assume yours are all black? They look just like these:

No, unfortunately, a Z is not yet mine. But I lurk, trying to get a feel for the car before it is MINE, all MINE! BUHAHAHA! I am patient. Disappointing that there's not an "all-aluminum pedals" option. That would seem to be part and parcel of any "Sports package" worth its name. |

For the US spec models, all the nissan materials I've seen (including the brochure in my hand) state that only the Touring and Touring/Sport models get the aluminum trim pedals. Base and Base/Sport have standard all black rubber like pedals.
Every Touring I've seen in person had aluminum. And every non-Touring I've seen did not. I'm surprised this is even being debated. Other countries are different. In Japan, the Sport models also get the aluminum trim pedals. |
Anyone found a good source for aftermarket AL pedal, yet?

Update:
I just spoke with Ultimate Pedals. They now carry our pedals for our beloved Z:ughdance::ughdance: Man, I can't wait to have 'easier' heel-toe sessions......I know, I know, I should have bought the SRM. :) |
That's awesome. They haven't updated the website to reflect it yet but that's good news. I hope they offer one that looks like the touring model. :yum:
|
I told them the same thing about their website.
BTW, they said the pedals for the 370 are 'not' the same as the 350. |
Yeah, I figured.
I called a local Nissan parts dealership asking about the trim and they said they couldn't sell the trim alone. The whole pedal assembly needs to be sold together. I was quoted ~$390 for each pedal (clutch, brake, gas) = ~$1,560. I'm not gonna spend that much money for aluminum trim; not to mention installing the pedal assembly. I guess the 350Z is a lot easier to install as opposed to the 370z which is probably why Nissan hasn't released a pedal trim kit yet as an accessory. Hopefully Ultimate Pedals can make one that looks and fits like the 370z touring model editions. I guess we'll just have to wait and see :icon17: |
Got my pedals from Ultimate Pedals.
The brake and clutch for the 350Z are what came; they did fit, though I would have preferred them to be a little bit bigger to cover the 'head' of the factory clutch and brake pedals. In any case, I am very happy. I also ordered the wide gas pedal which is specific to the 370Z and for heel-toe use. I almost used double-sided tape to mount it as I did not want to drill. Why did I not want to drill: 1st, cosmetics, and 2nd looking for where the screws should be mounted was somewhat of a challenge. Yeah, yeah, yeah.....this post is useless without pic's. I can't seem to find my camera, but I promise pics will be forthcoming. I am jazzzzzzzzzzzeeeddd!!!!!! |
