Default Greddy or Tanabe exhaust?

I'm a true rookie when it comes to all of this exhaust stuff! I do however want to add some sound to my 370 Roadster b/c the stock exhaust is not doing it for me. However, I am a pretty conservative and don't want something from "The Fast and Furious". I am looking for an exhaust fitting for a 42 year old banker type. The Tanabe and Greddy were recommended from a dealer. What do you guys think?

You shouldn't make that choice based on one recommendation. Exhaust systems are a highly subjective topic. You have several options and you should start doing your own research. Start reading here:
Intake/Exhaust - Nissan 370Z Forum

Go to youtube.com and listen to the various exhaust systems.

I went with the Tanabe. I'm 55 and it adds a note of authority without being obnoxous.
If you do the cbi, don't forget about the Y pipe. Swapping that out with an aftermarket one (Tanabe as well) will really ice the cake.

he said he doesnt want anything crazy.. so the fast intentions.. gt haus are out. Prolly too loud / shouty for him.

I'd suggest the ARK GRIP or wait for the ARK type 1.

Look up clips of them.

Tanabe, is my favorite after searching through all of the exhaust systems possible for my 370Z. Tanabe really showed me there commitment for keeping the original sound of the 370Z, while making the exhaust everything it should be if money is no option for a CBE. To be honest, i like the sound better without the Tanabe Y-pipe (kept stock) , it's got a growl and enough deep tone to create for me the perfect symphony.

I'm a 34yr old guy with 1 loud car already and wanted something more aligned with what you describe. I'm very happy with my Greddy Ti-C - with the silencers IN. It comes with the silencers in the mufflers and like that it sounds great. No drone at any RPM, not overly loud in the cabin, but sounds good outside. Sounds great over 3500 RPMs at full throttle. During normal driving you can hold a conversation without raising your voice.

I tried it without the silencers out for about 2 weeks but it was too loud for my taste, I knew I couldn't drive it for longer than 45 minutes without going crazy so put them back in and have been loving it ever sense.

I also think the fitment is perfect. The mufflers don't stick out too far and aren't overly showy/big - just big enough for people to notice it's not stock. It doesn't make as much power as some of the others, but the build quality, fitment, look and sound make up for it to me. I'm very happy with my decision.

You can see some pics of it here: Nissan 370Z Forum - TXSpeedDemon's Album: Greddy Turbo Ti-C Exhaust
