THE $30,000 PRICE RANGE offers a lot of interesting choices. You have your Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger: the BMW 1-series: the upstart Hyundai Genesis coupe. But the Nissan 370Z stands out as the only true sports car in the crowd. With the 370Z, Nissan has pulled off that hardest of tricks-the successful follow-up. I honestly thought Nissan had painted itself into a corner with the 350Z, an instantly recognizable car that won an immediate loyal following. I figured that the next Z would either look so much like its predecessor as to beimperceptibly different (as in the current Jag XJ), or it would be so out of left field that it would alienate existing fans and everyone else (as in Speed 2: Cruise Control). The 370Z though, pulls it off: It looks like a Z car, but with its boomerang headlights, and swollen fenders, its obviously not a 350Z.

It wont lay rubber like a Mustang: it can't play the role of a family car like a 128i. But itgives the average guy access to big-league, hard-edged performance. Is the Cayman S better? Sure. But is it $30,000 better? Definitely not.

I love reading writeups like that. The 370Z got so much right, and I agree with this guy, for all its faults the 350Z was a hard act to follow. Nissan had to improve a well liked design.

Esquire is a men's magazine, caters to educated and slightly more sophisticated males than say Maxim.

Yes, its a mens magazine for the kind of guys that can afford a $12,000 watch and $9,000 suits. My dad got a subscription to some other magazine and got a free subscription for another magazine, he just picked Esquire, sent em' to me and I started getting it like 3 years ago. Its actually and excellent magazine, that is funny, intelligent, and has some of the best writers in the industry, and excellent reviews. If you appreciate pinup girls, Esquire, Elvgren, and Vargas started it all.

I canceled my subscription to Maxim, it was just kind of sad, and trying too hard. I think I'm getting older.

Keep in mind that the Z was the lowest price car they reviewed, that and the Camaro.

Anyways, it was nice to see it in there, and I thought I'd share.

Actually, a gay friend of mine gave me props for considering a 370Z. And he's usually pretty picky when it comes to cars. So I guess I got the "rainbow" seal of approval? ;)
