My car is still 2 weeks out, but Stillen is having a great sale so I got the eibachs and stillens sway bars.

Plan is to roll the car home from the dealership, and I will powdercoat the wheels and calipers and since they will be off, it will be a great time to do the suspension! Can't wait for delivery!!!!!:ughdance::happydance:

About to pull the plug on the sways myself... I actually like the spring rate and don't have a burning desire to lower (I never did with the Vette), but a Tad more sway is needed for everything to be happy!

His is an awesome deal. Had it been black, and for sale 2 days earlier, I would have jumped on it.

So are you planning on placing the Eibachs over the stock shocks?

The Z already seems like a pretty low car. How low will it be once you install the eibachs?

I'm sure it'll look sweet as all hell, but will it mean you'll be scraping speed bumps?

I plan on using stock shocks for now. I have on every other car I have lowered with eibachs (which is almost every car I have had, so speed bumps aren't really an issue, just have to know how to deal with them). I am taking delivery on the 16th at the latest right now, so my plan is to have everything done and on the road by the 19th or 20th. There is a local Z/G meet on the 21st that I would like to bring the car to.

The Eibach springs are progressive, you may actually notice a slightly more forgiving ride despite the shorter travel.

If aftermarket shocks aren't a requirement then these spring may jump towards the top of my list.

They are and they arent. Putting Eibachs on factory fresh shocks is fine for awhile. The problem is, as they lose their damping they can no longer control the springing when it enters the stiffer area. YOu've seen Ricer Honda's bouncing down the road? To stiff a spring mounted over worn out struts.
A stiff spring will wear out a stock shock ( optimum damping control) sooner than factory springing. You have a little cushion with the Eibachs in that the'yre progressive and a bit closer to stock through the initial travel. The ideal situation is to pair a stiffer shock with the ability to handle a stiffer spring. . Pay now or pay later....:tup:

The Eibach's are softer than stock in the initial travel and stiffer at the end of the range. I doubt it is going to have any adverse effect on shock wear. Anyways, plenty of cheap shocks to be had by people that have bought coilovers.

Actually Steve, I think that more often than not its because they went the really cheap route and just cut their stock springs, totally screwing everything up.

Same thing kinda....Cut springs get stiffer!

I've put Eibachs over stock shocks twice. Once on a 20K mile 993 Porsche, and once on a 7K mile Miata. Neither of those 2 set-ups came out the way I liked. I should have learned my lesson the first time. Not enough shock control when compressed into the stiff area which is usually when you're tossing the car around and really need the damping. Stock shocks are valved to control the lower rate (stock) springs. I've put them over Bilsteins many a time with very good results. I am extrememly sensitive to suspension and shock control though. YMMV, just my experience talking FWIW...:tup:
