Octane rating has a LOT to do with power output. High octane fuel means you can advance ignition timing to get more power. Aggressive ignition timing + low octane fuel = detonation. Low octane fuel in a en EFI car = retarded ignition timing.

Thank you guys. Feeling the car much more responsive on the pedal with the K&N's, but I can't pull much with the existing tires, new ones should be here till the end of this week so I will do some final timings than.

You get any check engine lights with the test pipes?

Here's another point of reference for 0-60 mph and 1/4 mile times for the Z - 2009 Nissan 370Z (Automatic) 0-60 mph 4.5 Quarter Mile 12.9
I'm sure this was under ideal conditions. For the sake of testing you should have a clean baseline with all parameters documented and subsequent tests conducted in the same environment using the same strip of pavement with one upgrade done at a time. |

Yes, with the description "Catalytic system efficiency below threshold" on the lap-top. It shouldn't, since BERK test pipes has extended nuts for the lambda's, but I suppose bad designed.
This happens ONLY if you drive at constant speed for a while on a highway, never on full throttle or on the streets. Darko
