30t Turbo for __________.

I don't think they are going to go for power, with this turbo, I think they are going to be using the same though process that Hyundai did with the 2.0 turbo Genesis. Light weight with decent performance and good fuel economy, regardless what the marking department tells the public.

I wouldnt rush to buy one the first year. Frankly, there are always bugs in the first year runs (CSC failures, steering lock, etc). Also, depends on the quality of turbos they put on. I would not buy it with journal bearing turbos that are tiny and cannot handle upgrades well. Would rather save and put the proper stuff on the 370Z.

Now, if they put some ball bearing turbos of a decent size on with room for more boost, count me in.

I love when dragon ball z comes up in threads awesome!!!

If Nissan starts to go for more fuel economy with the future z's I could see it hurting them more then anything. Traditionally every time they did a model change so did the HP. Every time the new z had more power and has "according to Nissan" been faster then the previous one. So if anything they should just keep the z on course and stay away from the fuel economy turbo bs IMO.

If anything, I think they'll give it turbos to boost both fuel economy AND power. Decrease displacement (anywhere from 3.0-3.5 L), direct injection, and turbos is what I'm predicting (hoping ) for the next Z. Something around 400 HP should be good to keep it more in line with the 5.0 and Camaro.

Not necessarily true... Twin intakes and the A7 were designed to improve fuel economy. In the end, we gained both economy and power advantages. Wasting more gas doesn't always equal better power output. Look at the mustang 4.0 vs the 3.7 as an example. I'm sure with turbo tech nissan can harness 375hp without gas mileage dropping from where we currently are in NA form. If anything we might even gain 2mpg's on top and bottom???

Sounds good to me

I can see Nissan doing this as the current VQ powerplant is pretty much done... They aren't pushing it any further. And obviously they aren't going to put a V8. And it doesn't make much sense to drop to a much less HP engine if they're going to keep the Z alive...

Dropping displacement doesn't bother me. I loved my 300zxtt and would love to see them do a remake or something like it. 3L TT would nice and like you said somewhere around the 400hp mark and then IMO I think they would have a solid seller. But that try could still pull off saying its all "performance" which would be true but would also be true to say it would have better fuel economy.

I also just recently sold one of my 300zxs... I miss it already...

My Z is less than a year old and this got my attention being a former Audi-S Turbo junky/modder. I do miss the rush that 18lbs of boost can give you for short $$ mods. By the time we see a Turbo Z again I will be ready to trade my 2011 in. Looking forward to more info in this.
