I remember some guy on here totaled his Z, bought an Evo and went on a rant that it has Brembos, AWD, Recaro's, Turbo, etc and it's so much fun and he loved it. A month later he made a thread in the classifieds trying to sell his Evo to get another Z or trade the Evo for a Z lol. The Z just has something unique about it, don't get me wrong I thought about those other cars but when I get back in the Z and drive I feel at home.
+1 damn i love that post. exactly!

although, i always have love the Vette.....my dad had a white '73 stingray...and idk i was hooked from then on... but couldnt afford it (insurance)...... the Z? fit both my problems.

i see the Vette as a Sleek sexy Brute (american)

Congrats on the purchase, I am sure it'll be a ton of fun. Plus you will get much more hp per dollar than on the Z.... if your into modding.

Every car is good in different ways, but for the street, unless the Z is F/I, it will never be capable enough to take even a base vette. But of course since this is a Z forum, many will cop out on the interior part. Or others will pull the reliability card which would be false. Vettes are completely reliable just like many other cars out there.

Have fun with it.

I know, everyone thinks their car is perfect, hence it is like a circle jerk party sometimes....

I'm happy with the car. I have nothing against the Z, my dad has one when I was growing up. That is why I decided to buy 370z.

The Corvette is something I always wanted... now I got one

Congrats on the Corvette and finding one in that condition!! I drove my friends Corvette a few weeks ago and I really liked it. I like the way the center console is angled towards the driver.

Congrats on the 'Vette CC! And yeah, this forum has both extremes, the people who are always cheerful almost to the point of ignorance and then there are the people who sound like Eeyore.

OP, buy the GMPP if you plan to keep your car. You can get them from online vendor for $1000-2000 before your factory warranty comes out, it's well worth it.

I'm coming from the other direction. Sold my C6 last summer (it was my third) in anticipation of the C7. Got itchy for a another sports car so I went with a Z this time. Although I miss the sheer power of the Vette, I don't miss it's shortcomings and I find the Z a helluva lot more fun to drive. I've had ten Vettes and three Z's and I'm not sure what my next sports car might be. Usually I'd opt for the Vette, but the next gen NSX, GT-R and Z will be in the running, along with the C7 (unless they really screw it up).

Enjoy your Vette. It's an awesome car.

Below are a couple shots of my C6's and an interesting thread on the Corvette forum that addresses this very subject. Obviously, there are insecure tools on all forums.

I too, wanted to wait for the C7 but, C6 is very capable and a good car. So far I am happy with the car and the acceleration always put a smile on my face. To me I feel that I the 370z is a bit quicker but only time would tell since I haven't really open my Corvette up yet or get used to it yet .

I took the top of my Corvette today and enjoying the wind and air of an open top. It was awesome until I stop at the gas station and it was $4.07 per gallon for a total of $56.00 to fill the Corvette up-same as the 370z.
