Evo X MR or SE (paddle shifters) - decided against it because I wouldn't be able to control myself and end up modding it to hell.
E90 M3 - expensive, even pre-owned, can afford it, but not the maintenance considering how unreliable it is. 135/335 - can comfortably afford it, but didn't want a "me too" car that breaks down as often as it does STI hatchback - breifly thought about this, then realized i'm a Mitsu fanboy. New Gen coupe V6 - realized the Z is a much better sports car. |

* * * If I was in the market for a 370z, I'd also look at:
NEW -Scion FR-S -Subaru BRZ -Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0t or 3.8 -Honda Civic Si -Audi A4 -Audi TT -BMW 135i or 128i -BMW 328i (F30) -Lexus IS350 -Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart -Nissan Maxima USED -Porsche 911 carrera (996) -Nissan 350z -Audi S4 (B6 or B7) -BMW M3 (E46) -Cadillac CTS-V (2004-2007 1st Gen.) -Dodge Challenger SRT8 (6.1 liter HEMI) -Infiniti G35 or G37 -Lotus Elise or Exige -Maserati GT (2001-2007) -Mercedes SLK55 AMG -Mercedes C55 AMG -Toyota Supra (Mark 4) REALITY I'm looking for a used car to buy as a daily driver now. These are some possible choices: -Nissan 300zx (Z31) -BMW 318i or 325i (E30) -Mercedes-Benz S class, C class, or 190e -Lexus LS400 -Toyota Celica -Audi 90 or Cabriolet I've never owned a Z car before. I thought I could buy a Z31 as an introduction to the line. In the near future, I'd like to own a 370z. |

I looked at quite a few cars before I got my Z. A 2003/2004 Cobra, a new 5.0, all years of STI's (I actually was going to buy an 04 before the owner backed out), evo's (but I drove a lancer at the time, so I didn't want the same car) and lastly s2000's. Every time I see an STI though, I always wonder what if haha.

All of these were considered: All used
335i Charger SRT 8 CTS V Evo IX MR G37S E46 M3 ...None really came close to the total package of the Z. Really wanted a factory turbo'd car though and nearly pulled the trigger on a 335i but the reliability killed me

GT-R same as everyone else... couldn't afford it but not totally out of the picture in the future. The Z is still a much more practical and little brother of the GT-R IMO.
EVO-X MR: Performs better but is for a teenager IMO... which I am NOT. Liked the moding potential, but like someone else mentioned... would have blown it up or my bank account 370Z NISMO: Is what I settled on.... IMO: It just a classy and sexy car period... It is for those who have sports car wisdom..... its been my dream for years and way better than my Porsche 930 I had 12 years ago.... which was also sexy... but spent most of its time in the shop. |

I was looking for a NISMO 350Z at the time and found the NSIMO 370Z. I would have gone for a Maxima 4DSC or a G37 Sport Sedan as well.
