Does the 370Z scream "HIT ME" while parked?

Maybe it's me. I avoid hitting any cars, regardless if it is a Porsche or a Kia. I stay away from them and I hope they stay away from me

I agree, people just have no respect for other people's property. I usually park at the far ends of the parking lot as well.

There have been recent window bashing at my gym recently. The parking garage is a 3 level garage and I usually hit the courts at night and initially parked on the 2nd/3rd floor because they were empty. After hearing of my friends windows getting bashed in I started parking with the other cars but try and find the nicest car possible to park next to. To the point where I'd circle 2-3 times to find the perfect spot.

Anybody else have this problem? Park too far away from everyone and you have to be cautious about thieves and people vandalizing?

I try to park next to islands and get as close as possible to the curb, even then I had one guy hit my passenger side door at a 45 degree angle while backing up. To make it worse he had nearly two parkingspots of space to back into and he still hit me. Also on almost a daily basis I watch people park and nearly clip the front of my car. Usually while I'm sitting in it listening to the radio during lunch. Who knows how many more near misses there has been when I'm not around.

its not just the z...

my tahoe, yes, my 6000+ lb full size suv has been ran into twice, one parking lot hit and run and a parking lot $7000 t-bone where this douche without a license in an uninsured/unregistered F-250 backed into me. He tried to leave the scene but i blocked him in.

This was a blessing in disguise as he hit me in the exact same place where I was originally hit. His insurance paid for all the repairs. The third and last was again, the front right corner. This time is a 4-5 inch long scratch running towards the tire well.

When I park my car, no matter where I am I always ensure I'm centered in the parking spot I choose. I take every precaution including parking away from the higher traffic areas. I don't know what else to do other than leave a piece of paper scotch taped to my window saying:

PLEASE DON’T HIT MY CAR. YOU MAY NOT LIKE YOUR CAR, BUT I LOVE MINE!

Any other suggestions?
Have it blessed

You know............I do the same. I park in the way out there areas of the parking lot when possible, but I use the island(s) when I can't. I parked in a lot that no-one wanted to go into because of potholes and other craziness. I come back to my car to find a Mustang GT parked right next to me in and the parking lot was empty..............luckily hit didn't ding my door!

I found if you park to far out you endup with more a-holes trying to park near you then if you were to park in the middle or find a good spot between two people or find a upfront corner spot.

That is my 2 cents... might not make sense but when you try and blend in you dont stand out as much

i thought so to but it really doesnt help. I've had more problems when parking close and blending in than parking farther out. if you park far out a dbag would really have to go out of their way to fukc with you, and they are usually too lazy to do that

I believe that is true in the "normal" world, but on military bases I seem to find the "motivated" d-bags. When I was @ Fort Gordon for training, people would try to get to the schoolhouse before me and park in the far corner where I would normally park.........

When you park away from the crowd in the corner, you definitely draw attention to yourself. I think most people will respect your car and leave it alone. Of course there are dou***bags that go out of their way to mess with your car.

I've noticed when parking in the middle of the parking lot near many cars, it gets a lot of minor scratches and dings. Because there are so many people passing by it to get to their car, they may glide against the paint without noticing it.

Sure, I like to park next to nice cars so I can check them out a little bit closer. I never mean to infringe on their 'personal space'. I'm careful not to damage the paint when looking inside >

I believe it just comes down to respect for oneself as well as others, which a lot of people are lacking and sadly to say, simply don't care.

I remember a guy on Autopia that was a little whacked about his car (It's a cleaning site, a lot of OCD people). He carried cones and caution tape with him wherever he went and roped off his car so people would say away from it. He also had these big inflatable bumpers that hung from the window sills (think inflatable pool raft) to protect the doors just in case someone got inside the caution tape. Everyone thought he was just joking @ first then realized that it was really the way the guy parked. And it wasn't like it was a Veyron or something, just an average car.
The world needs more people like this so I seem more normal...
