Those are the markers for the AE car. Accept nothing less. Do you think some folks were making fun of 1940's car in 1970, saying real sports cars need 150 HP or more? At the time, for what it was the Z was amazing. In 1990 the MX-5 was ground breaking. The Z33/Z34 cars offered a resurgence into a small market. The BRZ twins may do the same for sports coupes. Sports cars are sports cars: they stir the soul connect you with the machine. "If you can't go fast with 90hp...900hp won't help." - bwob - b |

There are some interesting characteristics that the modern day 370z mimics:
"...the engine noise is so unpleasant above 6500 that there is just no reason to ever go up there." rough engine noise at/near redline "...an abnormally high level of road noise, particularly over tar strips and small bumps. The ride quality of the Z-car is actually quite comfortable for a sporting car of its class but the noise tends to make you think otherwise." tire noise "Even as it is, the 240Z is worth its price. Just between you and us, when Datsun gets it all straightened around, it might be worth a little more." 370z=$31,910 |
