Z, GTR, Juke R
Hi all,
I was just wondering if Juke R by using GTR transmission and GTR engine, it can be almost as fast as the GTR, what if the Z using the same specs as the GTR, will it be faster than the GTR? |
What is your goal here? If you have the money to put a GTR engine in a Z, then i'd say just buy the GTR. They only made 2 Juke-R's, so it's not like you can buy one of those.

I read some on these forums that at a certain point down the FI road, our cars just haven't been able to get all the power down without major work on the suspension and such. To beat the GT-R with a swap, you'd probably want to take the AWD setup.
If you were to swap that in, besides the turbos and plumbing, I think once you added the extra differentials, the transmission, any new coolers, and any necessary electronics you'd be about the same weight as the GT-R. 400 pounds would go really fast. You could gut it and/or increase the boost, but you would want to do the same thing to the GT-R if you want a fair comparison. I wonder how much downforce the GT-R produces relative to the Nismo 370Z. That's the only thing I could see as a potential advantage for the Z, but IMO it's not enough to really matter. |
You aren't going to touch a GT-R even if you turbo the Z IMO... There's too much ground to be made up. The GT-R is what it is for way more reasons than the Engine. Idk if you've ever been in one or driven one... The performance of the AWD system and Transmission are enough alone to drop your jaw.

id say the turbo's/intercooler/AWD drivetrain and all the computer systems that control them.. would add more than that.. I could be wrong though! ^

I think making the Z AWD would be a waste. I would like to see a factory turbo on at max a 3100lb chassis. The GT-R I would like to see it at max a 3500lb chassis on 600+hp. The G coupe to be in between both at 3300lbs. With equal power to the Z. :)
