I want to trade 2010 nismo for a zl1 camaro

Yeah, supercharge that thing and you should get way more than 125HP. The LS engines seem to respond favorably to forced induction. You could get real serious and slap some

I went the opposite, I did the motor and blower first then did the rest of the car to handle (almost handle) it. I spend a lot more time driving on the street than I do the strip, so it wasn't a huge deal which way I went first.

Yes, I may just S/C my small block..The shop that does my work is just finishing a dual turbo LS custom 69, but it is a six figure car..He builds SEMA cars, and mine is a mild build, haha..

I don't see me LSing or 6 speeding the car for now..

But with the Flat top pistons I think I can get away with Super charging it..And I can leave my new exhaust alone.

I also had 40 year old suspension and brakes, so I had to start there...Sure I could have gone back stock and saved 15K, but what fun would that be ? Now it is high end and ready for anything I want to do with it.. Just need more power now..400HP does not cut it ,in the modern world..Back in 1985, I was king...not anymore. Yet...

Yep, in that Camaro I'd have started with suspension and brakes as well. I'm wanting to upgrade the brakes on my Challenger even to a Baer system, but it's $4K and I just can't bring myself to do it. I wanna go faster, I'll worry about stopping later LOL

That house is awesome!

Thanks Speedy..

The house is a long shot, but I am rolling the dice..It would be a steal if I pull it off, if not, I have a nice house, and a great fixed loan now. I would never try to buy a short sale, they are just too long and hard to get. But I will know in the next few months..

Yes, the brakes were really expensive, your prices are right on, and it was a few hundred more for Red calipers, haha

Yes, I had to change all the old stuff..Gas tank, fuel lines, brake lines, ect... The suspension was dead. Did I need to go with coil overs, and Hotchkis everywhere else ? No.

And the brakes and exhaust were toast.. Did I have to go with ceramic and stainless steel exhaust. No.

Did I have to buy the best Willwoods that made me have to buy new Rims ? No.

But man, it is now one of a Kind. I really wanted all of it, and it was the first thing on my Bucket List. I almost died two years ago due to Major Heart and Brain problems that I am still recovering from. So, yes, I went all out so far on the build, well not Art Morrison Chassis crazy, but what I could afford..

Did I have to buy the Wife her dream 370Z and trade a perfectly good , paid off 350Z ? YES...I did not see that coming..haha Had I never started my car, she would have been happy with her 350Z...

But I need more than 400HP . I have buddies that have road course Camaro's that go from 0 to 100 and back to 0 in 13 seconds.. So next will be Interior and Horsepower....maybe not in that order, haha.

Mike

Man that Camaro is bad ***. PM me first if you ever decide to sell it. Seriously.

You can't take it with you buddy. As long as your bills are paid and your not in debt up to your eye balls I say go for it. I had a similar experience, although not as serious I think, and now if I wanna do something....I do it. Life's short...live hard!

Thanks Speedy, I will keep it in mind.

Yes, I roll as debt free as possible and make sure that long term, I am not stressing on money.. The fine line of living for today and still having the future covered for me and the wife...Can't blow it all on stuff...

But my bucket lists are in full swing. Travel, the Z/28, maybe the new Home, and maybe some more fast cars, newer one's...But bills get covered first..

Mike

It is a weekend warrior and never a daily driver.. Also that money included some crazy Rims and a completely new fuel system, exhaust system, and more. So ya, 20K would have been right if I did not do all the extra's, but they were 40 years old...Now all the underneath is new, and if I break it, no biggy.

Speedy, you are right on there..

He sold a 2008 Z06 and took a $30K hit...he said never again will he fool with a newer car. The Camaro will appreciate instead of depreciate.

Here's some of the Challenger:

Nice, even if it is a Dodge. J/K.

My first step was to do the brakes and the suspension, ect...You know, do the right steps first and then go back to the engine ...The car is now set up for massive HP with the subframe connectors, ect...

So now with a full Hotchkis set up and massive Willwoods, ect.., I am looking to S/C my LT-1 .. It has the flattops and bulletproof parts, so I may try the 125HP charger..I need more HP to run with the new cars..

And I want to leave the factory Corvette engine since I have all new exhaust and MSD parts..

If not a S/C, then higher compression and a bigger cam...Running a comp cam 280H now, but it only runs low to mid 13's..@ 108. I now know the car will handle much more HP.. It will never get good gas mileage unless I go with an LS.

I have dreams of a new style ZR-1 or ZL-1 engine, but that would take a wad that I should not spend..It would not be financially smart...

But I spent my camaro wad of money for now... The wife had a paid off 350Z, but since I went crazy on my car, I had to put 20K down on the 370Z to make the payments low... Happy Wife, Happy Life..

So went the Interior money and my HP boost...
What heads are you running? I have the CC Magnum 280. Combined with the AFR 195 Eliminators the car is now a rocket. Highly recommend the AFR's. The best that's out there for a reasonable price.
