No there is a huge price difference. You are being misled on price difference in the states. And though the vette throws out an occasional 8k off on the bottom 2 models and 10k off on the Z06. Its not there base price or what they run for 10/12th's of the year.

For the scratch you were comped the maintenence plan and you know its your right to have a scratch made by them fixed. Me and my service rep always pre-inspect the car together. My service rep documents if he sees anything before the car goes in. If he finds nothing? He writes he saw nothing wrong. We do the same when I leave. That's procedure at dealerships...
Now if WE found something different after it returns from service? he would automatically write it up that it didn't exist on pre-inspection.
If you and the rep aren't doing a pre-service inspection? Then you are letting your dealership take advantage of you. That would be your bad.

Oh, I know that... it was sarcasm... The vette and Camaro ZL1 are way out of reach even with my employee discount.

Unknown, Corvettes are heavily discounted. The C6 base models, anyways. So the street price is pretty low. Low enough to get some price overlap with a Sport+Touring Z.

Not true at all. If you buy C6 for more than invoice, you have failed. I special ordered mine in Jan. and paid invoice.

Yeah, I know I could force them to fix it, but what would get dicked up in the process? It's a scratch on the underside of the car, I'm going to take the plan and walk, because I don't ever want to have aftermarket paint on any of my cars (especially for a scratch you can't see normally). It always screws you harder further down the road. OEM only.

Chevrolet

According to Chevy's WEBSITE.

A Base C6 corvette is $49,600
A grand sport is $56,000
A Z06 is $75,600
A ZR-1 is $111,600

HERE'S NISSAN

Nissan mobile

A Z base is $31,910
A Z sport is $34,940
A Z touring is $36,610
A tour sport is $39,640
A NISMO is $41.290

You are way off base Import. These are the prices for all these cars before they have any options or incentives.
Here is a corvette, out the door for $44 (for $45K, you can get it with NAV, 2LT, etc.).
2012 Coupe Rock Bottom Price No Negotiation Sale At Boardwalk Chevrolet - Corvette Forum

My 370Z cost $43, and Nissan wasn't offering 0% at the time like this car. Means my 370Z is costing MORE than this corvette. Now granted I bought it for MSRP because that's just what I had to do to get the 370Z I have, but still, even if discounted to $39K or so, the interest fees would make it an even comparison.

Yeah but those are seasonal deals. People who buy the Z ultra early or late get up to $3000 below invoice. We have plenty of forum brothers that have bought maxed out Z's for 38k. Much of that reflects region. You can argue what dealerships sell it for when it sits on a lot for nearly a year because no one wants to deal with CORVETTE maintenecence and insurance rates. You prices are still reflect what dealers sell it for. Most people won't pay 60k for a great car with econo interior. So dealers have to get subsidized to sell a vette. It is what is... but you can't sit there and argue against Chevy's website. And here in dallas where Corvettes sell well. Its hard to get a vette so heavily discounted unless the dealer really needs to get it off his lot.

There are several vette threads here if everyone wants to discuss the vette in nauseating detail. Back on topic.

Garbage. 60K for a Camaro is almost as stupid as spending 100k for a Vette.

48k would be reasonable for a ZL1, not 60k. Hell no!
