The end of the Mayan calendar was supposed to signal a change in the world and a recreation of it by the gods. So why did they disappear hundreds of years ago? Maybe they where wrong and their gods started to change the world when Europeans landed in south america.

I saw a show last week on the Mayans and a "calendar reader" said the same it was a change in society.

Beside both the ZL1 and GT500 are available before 21 Dec 2012. This means buy one even if you can't afford it. By the time they come around to repo it you'll be out running tsunamis, robot overloads, and zombies.

Extremely rational thought process going on in this thread. I like the way you think.

It will be a big change. If you want V8 muscle, the ZL1 will fill the bill.

I see good reviews everywhere-the car will be a game changer.

A bit expensive and not exactly a DD. If you can get one go for it.

Why not a DD? It will ride very well, handle bumps great for what it is, and it has a back seat and a trunk. I'd wager it will make a more comfortable DD than the mustang in your avatar, given the better suspension.

as much crap as I read about people putting down the mustang for its SRA...when ever I read an expert they say it the best SRA setup around, it beats the Z on tracks with curves (better handling).

But as a DD it's usually the massive amount of HP that wouldn't be used and the stop and go traffic that makes slow starts feel like stall that he was referring too.

The mustang has a power difference, the Z's suspension is better. Having the best SRA in the world is like winning the special olympics.

I don't think he will have a problem with traffic, the LS series is a wonderful engine family and slapping a TVS on it only makes it better. Car will do fine, and OP says he plans on many HPDE's. I think it's a good choice...Z06 is better. OP should buy one instead imo.

SRA or IRS...At the end of the day it's who comes in first.

I don't really think it matters how good your suspension is if you have a hard time keeping up with a Camaro SS in a Z06.

Yeah, but imagine me trying it in a Mustang.

However, I won't let you obscure the issue with misdirection that easily. I'm well rested.

Unfortunately, this has not been the case, as the ZL1 has trumped the GT500 on every track that they have both ran on so far. Let's see what 2013 holds, though...

We all knew that the new ZL1 was built to just beat the current GT500. But the 2013 was built to give Chevy a big FU.
