Default What other cars are on par with the 370z?

I was curious, without being bias. Honestly what other vehicles are on par or exceed the performance and cost effectiveness of a 370z?

I am trying to decide what my next car should be coming from a 350z and I cant really find other cars that are....

-Faster
-Better looking
-More fun to drive
-Have as much potential
-Cost the same

As a 370z. I was looking for some suggestions. For example would buying a used infinity G35 and modding it, or getting a civic Si and adding a turbo to it, be a better option than a 370z? I know alot of websites claim the Mustang 5.0 is faster and more cost effective than a 370z, but to me im not really a fan of big, bulky american cars.

For me,when I was looking for a vehicle,it was a toss up between getting a g37 coupe or the 370. I was trying to decide if I wanted to give up the back seat or keep it,then I came across a good deal on a 370. And I couldn't be happier.
To be honest, your not going to find a lot of people on here that aren't going to say to go with the 370z.

I used to be a huge Mustang fanboy. I drove my friends 2010 Mustang for a little bit, and couldnt wait to go back into my 370Z.
Some people might say the new Hyundai Genesis, but the 370Z looks sexier in my opinion.

I noticed the going rates for 09/10 370's is between 20-23k which is what id be happy spending. Anything over 24k is outta my range.

In which case, I may be better off buying a used HR 350z and modding it for about what i'd spend on a used 09 370z. Or buying an older vehicle thats as quick or fun or good looking as the 370, but doenst cost as much. For example getting a nice used GTI and modding it to be quick.

I am not interested in a BMW, I know they dont last very long without serious issues and cost alot to maintain.

Keep looking. With winter coming up the prices will go down and you will have some negotiating room to work with at dealers. The Z I ended up purchasing was for sale for a few months and initially listed out of my price range. The price obviously came down since I'm driving it now.

The only time I'd buy a car that's about 10 years old is if:
I was a mechanic who fixed cars for a living
I liked that particular generation (like I do FD3S and Z32s)
And I could get it for a song and dance; say the engine was blown or it had a problem the owner didn't want to deal with anymore and wanted to get rid of the car ($40K for a formerly $150K car that's almost a decade old is risky if you ask me)

Other than that, I'd pass on a 10 y.o. supercar, especially FI'd.

agreed, $40k for the car and another $40k in repairs, the only 911 to buy in my opinion is the 997 06+

There is no other car close to the 370Z in any way, if you can afford to buy a Porsche 911 S 06+ and get a good warranty, I would say go that route

How about a used Porsche Cayman S. They are comparable in price. Service is a little pricey but, you might be able to do some yourself if you are so inclined.

I read the Genesis 3.8 is actually faster than the 370z, is that true? But I cant get over that badge.... Hyundai's always seem "cheap" to me.

couldn't disagree more... hyundai is a good, quality car... and you get a ton for your money... my fiancé drives a 2013 elantra and my dd is a 2014 santé fe sport... the genesis coupe is a sweet looking car with decent power... the z won for me because i wanted a 2-seater... and, i love the history of the car
