370Z to G37?
I just had this idea right now of jumping out of my Z into a G !!!
I got a base 6mt Z with s/p but sometimes I really wish I had heated seats, nav,etc just more luxury overall and some EXTRA Seats. Iv been with my Z for half a year now and really have been enjoying it everytime I get into it. However I am not a track guy nor a mod guy, at least for now. I use my Z as DD since its my first and only car. What are your thoughts on switching between the two? How much handling"aka FUN"am I going to lose in the G and how much luxury am I gaining? Could you give me some very reallistic PROs and CONs on the G compared to Z? Any related words are welcomed! This would be a big choice if I am going to make it. Thanks in advance Elric |

IMO I'd prefer a G35 over the G37. But to answer your question, you gain back seats, I think its AWD as oppose to FRD. Nav and heat can be obtained on both cars. More HP to accomodate the 300 lbs difference. I just think that the G37 is like a 3 series BMW not close to an M3 though. What's funny though is that since I prefer a G35 but could only get a brand new G37, I'd also think about the Altima. I know its less HP but with a few mods, you can save money. The new G just doesn't appeal me at all.

Honestly, sounds like your mind is already made up but you're looking for reinforcement or approval for this decision. I don't blame you as it's human nature and in fact, I say go with the G if the loss isn't significant on your budget. If you make mad dough, the loss of a couple thousand won't mean shiznit.

The new G37 Coupe looks like complete butthole, The old G35 is legit, But overall 370Z is a lot better, yeah the inside of the 370z looks like a base model with the craptastic radio horrible speakers, But all it takes is a thousand bucks and u can have a good radio and speakers, G37 u paying for that G and that "luxury" to me 5 thousand dollars more aint worth heated seats and electric seats and a little fancy clock. Save up your nickels and dimes and do some upgrades. Your never look back nor will you regret having the Z, All it took for me was a touch screen navigation and exhaust and I got hooked.

You answered your own question -- the G is a more luxury oriented Z. If you do start modding, the difference between them will become negligible in performance, but the luxury remains. If you are able/willing to pay for it, go for it.

The G is a fine car and if you can afford only one car at a time it's really a better choice for more than day-to-day operations.
You know when you need more comfort, more room/seats, haul stuff and people around etc. That said, I have a four door Altima SE-R that does that job for me. It's friggin huge inside. The back seat leg room whatever seems to have more room than the Z's front. Had it since new and I love to run the hell out of it. It's not a G but still a fun car to drive and is surprisingly fast. Paid for years ago too.. If you can afford two cars keep your Z for your day-to-day stuff like doing burnouts and scaring old ladies (giggle) and purchase a late model something to haul people and stuff around when you need to. Or...just get a G? lp |

Yeah the G37 to me looks more luxury and it's got some weight to it. For me, I got the 370Z Touring with the sports package and navi unit, and I'm not lookin back at my Honda S2000. PROBLEM SOLVED!
