I once check on upgrading to a Sport Touring Model 370z at a dealer and after haggling for while, the differential was huge (~$15K). If you just a few more luxury items, you can certain add them for way more than purchasing a different car. Now if you need the rear seats, that a different issue.
That you described is probably all I want on my Z
I didn't know there are such things as seat warmers and lumbar support!!
I thought I needed to get new seats in order to get them

How did them turnout to be? I searched online and the seat warmer seems to be pretty well priced~ 50$? Could you give me a mini review on them?

Thanks a lot.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Letting the NISMO go and picking up an IPL. So then I would have 2012 instead of a 2009, but my payments would reflect that. I should have my Z paid off sometime next year and it puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. I am sure that the IPL would do the same and have a back seat for the kiddies, but I'm not gonna do it! Glad you are keeping the Z!

Wait for the next gen IPL. This one is a short run and the next one will be more performance oriented.

Smart *** replies aside, my point was I see a lot more G37's than I do Z's.

If you are in to "dedicated" sports cars, why did you get an automatic? I'm assuming because that's what you wanted. It all comes back to personal preferences that are subjective.

Dont do it!

The nav and stereo stuff you can easily do you rself. You can also have some sound deadener installed throughout the car and get a very quiet ride. In my mind no reason to pay a lot of money for a "luxery" car when its just a bunch of expensive oem crap the auto maker adds on to their base models

I got lucky and the girlfriend fell in love with the G37 and picked up an 09 sedan Hers is even almost the same color as my Platinum Graphite too (Infinity just calls it Platinum and its a little lighter, but not much) That means I get to DD my 370Z and when we need a backseat or trunk, we take her car. Win, Win!!

The funny thing is since my Z is loaded (Touring - Sport - Nav), it actually has more features than her base G.

IMO a sports can can only be a two seater... I mean how many Indy cars or Ferrari's have back seats?

There is something about the small intimate size of the Z that appeals to me...like being close to a sensual woman..smelling her perfume..feeling her softness and hearing her purr..then roar in a burst of excitement..

True the Z , unlike the G . no G spot.. but its lighter.. and has the same engine so the performance is better..and all things being even, a lighter car can turn and corner better than a heavier one.

Its an exciting drivers car...not for someone that has to strap kids in the back seat or dogs to the roof..

The touring is really all I want, since I am going to keep the Z for more years.

Thanks
I don't think this is worth the hassle. It will cost you more to do this now than from the factory. You would need the touring package rims, brakes, nav unit, seats etc. However, there are many aftermarket alternatives if you want to add some toys (i.e. new head unit, speakers, rims, etc.).

Thanks a lot.
The seat warmers I purchased we also about $50/seat and I actually put them in both the Z and a Toyota Sequoia. Be prepared to pull the seats out of the car to install them. You will need to feel comfortable working on your car's interior since you will need to connect power to them and install the switch in your center consul. The switches look a bit cheesy, but they work and I wasn't comfortable with knowing if a factory Z seat warmer switch would be compatible. My guess is they would be, but the OEM switches were pretty pricey last time I checked. The seat heaters work great, but are just a tad slower to warn up compared to OEM seat heaters I have in other cars. Other than that they work great.

The lumbar support I purchased on-line and if you PM me I can give you a link. I only did the driver seat and it cost me under $100. If you do the seat warmer, you might as well do the lumbar support at the same time since the seat will already be removed and cloth seat covers removed or partially removed. It's an electric powered air bladder and it works just like an OEM lumbar support. That really helped my back. It was well worth the investment for me.

I also installed sound deadening materials in the door and back end of the Z so I'm very happy with the car. I'm still considering leather seat covers, but I'm liking the feel of the cloth seats.

I hope that helps.

See, this kind of thinking to me, I don't understand. A lot of guys say 4 seaters aren't real sports cars. So then, a GT driver driving a mustang or camaro SS can say, well then your so called 2 seater sports car isn't good enough because I just beat you around the track. Sports car IS NOT how many seats you have. Its HOW WELL a car can perform under a given set criteria. Once a car achieves or exceeds that skill seat criteria. Its nominated as a sports car.
This is why I refain from calling the Z a "True" sports car and I just choose to call it a Dedicated" sports car. My definition of a Dedicated Sports Car is a car with 2 seats and no room for practicality. Does that make it better than a car with 4 seats?? Well if the Z can't beat it then its not better. Plain and simple.
As far as cozy in the cockpit... well that's subjective. Iagree with you there but one mans cozy is another mans cramped.

CHANGE SUBJECT. Gripe & Rant.

I have a serious gripe with the Z though. Last night I'm driving on the 161 doing about 78 and I have the radio real low. I decided to lower it to 0 and here my exhaust. Guess what I heard??? Tire and road noise, a slight audibility of wind. NO EXHAUST sound. This fkin car doesn't even sound like a sports car at cruising speed. WTFF!!!!!! I already know this but I'm thinking in my head. You know how many 350z's pass me sounding Mad Brolic on the road on stock exhausts. And it kills me that the Z exhaust is basically... fkin wack!!! Its a terrible misrepresentation of a sports car exhaust. My old G37 had a REAL sports car sound. That sound adds to the driving experience. It really sucks the dedicated sports car can't hold a candle to the pseudo-luxury sports car. Sound is 35% of the sports car experience. And unless you smash on the gas for a complete 3mpg's the Z just doesn't sound good in terms of volume, stock. This is something nissan better fix in 2013. Make it sound like the old 350z again.

PS there are Ferari's and porsches with back seats.
