My older brother asked me to lend him my Z...
My older brother got 2005 Jeep cherokee, and his car has crashed into pick
up truck yesterday. He asked me to lend him my Z for 3 days, so he can go to his work in the morning without late. I don't have a work to do until june 7th, so i don't really need to use my car. I can take public transportation if i wanna go out. Eventhough, I couldn't decide to tell him say yes or no, because my bro got in 5 accident in recent 3 years since his left eye's surgery. I know it's very risky decision and i'm sure he could get into another crash with my lovely brand-new Z, but i can't let him late to his work. If you were me, would you lend your "new" car to your family who has a potential to crash your car? |

Whether those crashes are his fault or not, that's really irrelevant. It's either 1 of 2 things: Bad luck, or bad driving. Rental cars are only 20bucks per day, throw in insurance and its about 30$ per day. If the accident was the other persons fault, he should be reimbursed anyhow. If you want to help him out but don't want to lend him your Z, I would just pay for his rental or pay a portion of it for him.
IMO, this is the best way, and you aren't laying awake at night wondering if your brother and your car is okay or not. God forbid he gets into another one. Good luck bro. |

This is what I would do
Drive him to work tomorrow morning. When he is done working, pick him up. On the way coming back, stop by Enterprise/Avis/Hertz to rent him a small car. When you rent the car, tell them it's insurance related and you will get the special price/day for w/e his insurance company. I was given a 08 fully loaded Camry for 24/day for unlimited days last year when they were working on my 350Z. I am very sensitive who drives my car. The only two persons so far drove my car are alefcole and onethreefive. No one else is allowed (except emergency)

Rental car for sure I wouldn't let anyone drive my car, unless I was in it, and it was brief, especially if they have a history of accidents.

RENTAL!!! For god's sake, RENTAL!!!
If my DAD asked me if he could use my car for 3 days after 5 accidents in 3 years, I'd say no. I don't care if he's my dad... THAT'S A LOT OF ACCIDENTS! I won't even let my best friend drive my car and he hasn't been in an accident in at least 5 years. HAHA... I say let him wake up early and walk if he doesn't want to rent a car. LOL

If my brother asked to borrow my car, I would let him. I love my brother and would do anything for him, as he would for me.
IMO you can't put personal possesions above love. |

IMO theres just some things you don't ask a man to borrow, and a new Z is one of em. Any new toy really, but if it was a new honda I prob wouldn't care and let whoever drive it. If its your only car and his history, there is no way I would consider it even.

It's just a frickkin' car. Unless my brother was an addict, alchoholic, or clearly abused cars while driving them, I'd just loan it to him, no questions asked. The worst that can happen is money. But then, my brother would make sure to make it right if anything bad happened. Not sure if yours would... |

Give him a ride. Family or not with an accident record like that it would be hard to trust him. I should know, my sister has totaled four cars in the last five years, only one of them being her own.

Uhm, nah son. It has nothing to do with love. I'll pay for your rental. Very simple. You are not driving my $3XXXX sports car which I bought with my money. And DEFINITELY not with your driving record. |
