The mustang was fugly!!!: the camaro looked like a studio prop from the 50's classic War of the worlds. The Trans am took the corny out of the look of the camaro and was probably the only cool looking affordable sports car. But only the high end firebirds, the base ones were still fugly... Camaro/firebird was going out the door anyway at the time... the corvette was too expensive and there were no japanese sports cars except the new FWD-Only wacky doo eclipse and the low-powered miata. The Z was debuting at 25k with 287hp and 280hp for the auto. A mustang back then had what 290-300hp with a v8! The Z was hella impressive with both looks and performance... you are definately ENTITLED to your opinion, but I'm just thinking back and wondering... what could have been better than a Z in 2002 lol. The mazda wound up disappointing due to its lack of power but on intro it just looked hot. |
Don't forget. I was in Japan. So I was looking at Gen 3 supras and skyline GTS-T and GT-Rs. Those were well with in my price range. So were used Porsches.

Non-scientific, goofy, first-hand anecdotal observations related to performance-oriented Nissan owners: 300ZX/Z32 and G35 owners dislike or hate on the 350Z, but like, or are impartial to, the 370Z. 350Z owners, and to an extent G37 owners, dislike or hate on the 370Z.

The cars I drive are not a dime a dozen around here.. You see every other cookie cutter Car, camro's Dodge's Escilpe's..but the 2009Black Touring/Sport stands out in the Crowd.. And the Z/28 is as rare as it gets.. You are right, those other cars are not worth the money,IMHO.. But I had a great time in the 350Z....My friends with Muscle cars got handed their hats One's or twice, commenting that the 350Z looked like it was stuck to the ground in corners... Nissan has done a great Job with the car and it's improvements. |
I'll be honest, I'm not a fanboy. Not with electronic devices or cars. I respect the Z lineup but I have no brand/model loyalty because it makes no sense. By using the fanboy logic, even if they make an obviously shitty model, I'm supposed to like it. :icon14:
For this reason, I can say I like the 300zx TT, 2006+ 350Z, and of course the 370z. The 370z being the most refined one, it'll naturally be the best one. :happydance: Tl;dr Haters goin' hate |

Somehow they think they are getting more... all they are really getting is RWD and AWD vs. FWD and RWD,, intelligent cruise control, a few extra motions on their power seats and and extra coat of paint and clear. Its the only thing that distinguishes infiniti from NISSAN. Honestly that's not enough to warrant the prices on most infiniti's. I bought the G for its lineage and heritage but couldn't stay owning one with the kind of NON-ENTHUSIASTS plaguing the Current G forums. The pretentiousness and pseudo-elitism is UNREAL! G forum guess what???? Your still driving a nissan. Get over it. Lol. |
I was/am a member on my350z because I bought an 04' 350z new and loved it and when the time for a new car came I logically (opinion) upgraded to a 370Z because I loved my 350 and found the 370 to encompass things I loved about the 350 plus a nicer interior and improved engine. End of the day as many have said, Haters gonna hate and will always find some reason to do so. The 350 is an amazing machine and a first love of cars for me, but now i love my 370 and only wish I still had the 350 because id like to have them both in my garage instead of just one.
